Always remember, ladies; though mens' sizes are based on actual measurements, womens' clothes are the wild west. At one point womens' clothing was actually regulated over brands. However, now, there is none of that. Brands, generally now, size their clothes based on who buys their clothes. Try to seperate that number from you, yourself, if you can. Like she said, just think of it like a shoe size. Don't let the conceit of others, and of these brands take your self-love away from you. You deserve more than what that number makes you feel.

Its ridiculous. I was bridesmaids dress shopping in a regular clothing department, not a dress shop, with the bride, and she found a dress she liked and it was 3 sizes smaller than what I normally wear and I swore to her it would never fit, and it did. Clearly a vanity size b/c there was no way, and yet in other brands, I need two sizes up.

Yes. I like dressing modestly and I feel like it's harder now a days to find good looking clothes that's full coverage. A ton of shirts now a days are cropped or super open in the chest area.

This video is so important: it shows that anyone, no matter what size, can be insecure about their bodies/how clothes fit on their bodies. Finding clothes that fit how you want them to fit, and that make you feel comfortable and confident is sooo important.

This is so inspiring - as someone who holds on to a lot of guilt over clothes not fitting the same as I’ve gotten older the thought about letting them go because they don’t serve my body anymore makes so much sense. Thanks to the both of you for your story and taking us on this journey. I’m definitely going to give it a go myself!

Friendly Reminder for young women: The numbers you see on your jeans are quite literally that, just a number. Women's sizing is so incredibly arbitrary, like if you can internalize that the numbers on your pants are nonsense that aren't even standardized from store to store you can just see as your starting point that's easy to grab when finding pants you look hot in

As someone who has been struggling with my eating disorder for most of my life, it's really nice to see this being talked about more, especially about the struggles of recovery. I gained a lot of weight in the past year due to starting testosterone (I'm trans), and dealing with that has been really difficult and it definitely makes it more difficult to not relapse again. I'm slowly starting to accept that this is just where I need to be right now, and seeing Mei let go of the things that are connected to her past gives me hope for a future where maybe I can do the same. Thanks for this. 😊

True! My mom got super judgy comments when she asked a store employee if they carried EU size 43... Like, it's not her fault?? However, I do think that in general it's easier to accept your shoe size for what it is, because it's completely out of your control. And the myth we keep telling each other is that your clothes size is in your own control. Even though clothing size depends on a great number of factors, of which body weight is just one (and definitely not the most influential one). And our body weight isn't even entirely in your control.

Yep, I’ve been judged for my feet size, which is stupid because I’m tall, so yes I do have bigger feet. I’ve also been judged for my body size as well, I’ve always been slim except after giving birth and now that I’m older. As a side note, I don’t get judged for my body shape now that I’m older, at least not out loud. I’m my own worst critic, at 60 I don’t think it’ll change. 🤷‍♀️

Then I realized that I do the exact same thing, and the things they said are no different than what I tell myself. Acceptance is a difficult, long journey to reach and its no surprise that this quarantine has been trying for everyone. Whether it be our self-esteem, confidence, livelihood, or mental and physical wellness that has been tested, we all need to show ourselves the mercy, compassion and grace we deserve, because we are deserving of so much. 💕

This video spoke to me on so many levels, and I wanted to share my biggest tips for others on their self-love journeys - learn to sew your own clothes. You don't have to be great at it; I don't wear half the things I've made because they're one gentle breeze away from falling apart. But learning to sew my own clothes has really helped me see them from a new perspective; it's really driven home the fact that clothes are meant to fit your body, not the other way around. When I shop for clothes, I purposely look for clothes that have enough room for me to alter to fit my body. As I gain sewing experience, I plan on spending more on sewing patterns than clothes - that way, I can make my clothes to fit each of my fluctuating sizes, and in all the fabrics I feel confident in. Thank you Mei & Tahirah for posting this video & being so candid about your journeys!

It's okay to sometimes have hang-ups about your body, what really matters is that you pick yourself up, and like my professor says " shake it off and move on". you guys are so perfect as you are and thanks for being so inspiring. XOXO

Loving yourself takes time - especially after you witness it change. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Be patient with yourself and more importantly, be kind to yourself ♥️

I have been really struggling with my body image lately and this video was what I needed. It made me feel so inspired and heard. I am the biggest I have ever been, although I am still "skinny." Everyone has different standards of what their body "should" look like, and it is important to hype everyone up no matter their size because ALL BODIES ARE BEAUTIFUL!

This video gave me a good cry but I'm glad I watched it because if made me realize that clothes sizing shouldn't define your worth. Made me realize I'm not the only one who goes through this. Bodys change but no matter how they change they are still beautiful and so are we. And its okay if its hard. You're allowed to cry and show emotion but at the end of the day don't feel like your clothes should control you. Your clothes are meant to fit you. Not the other way around. Thank you to these beautiful girls for helping me realize that even more.❤❤❤
