An important form of pro-life activism is telling people you oppose abortion, especially if your social circle is predominantly pro-choice. See more pro-life atheist interviews here: secularprolife...

Do you agree with the label "pro-life" or do you feel "pro-birth" represents your views more appropriately?

"Anti-abortion" is probably the most accurate, but "pro-life" is more accurate than "pro-birth."

I can always tell when one of these videos is getting good reach because the comment section will be mostly made of antagonistic pro-choicers that have never seen an SPL video before. Welcome! I hope most of you stick around and engage with this channel but past experience, sadly, suggests that none of you will.

There is no logical reason for a pro life stance outside of an individuals own personal choice. A person having an abortion in no way effects anyone but themselves. You have every right to be pro life, but you have ZERO right to try and take that choice from anyone else.
@UnexpectedTurnOfEventsАй бұрын
Of course there is. A person does harm someone else... The life of another human. Just because it's inside of a person for 9 months it doesn't make that life any less of a human life. As for taking away a choice, we already agree that killing a human is a choice that is not socially acceptable. So you're saying that the location of that human (inside or outside of another human body) makes all the difference? I don't see your logic.
@brandons9138Ай бұрын
@@UnexpectedTurnOfEvents 96% of abortions happen before the 15 week. At that point calling it a human life is just emotional manipulation. It's "potentially" a human life. That's it. It's not a sentient being. It can't survive outside the womb. Following your logic no person should ever be removed from life support. Even in the absence of brain activity they should be forced to be kept "alive". In both of these situations there is no "person" to speak of.

It quite literally affects the unborn human, biology has concluded that life begins at fertilization.

Being pro-life is not a closeted thing, you aren't victims, and you aren't being oppressed. You're just wrong
@melonyrobinson9944Ай бұрын
It depends on experience. As a pro lifer in a very pro choice state, people assume you are pro choice and there is a lot of pressure not to voice pro life views. Regardless of whether or not you think we're right, that doesn't mean we're never treated poorly or seen as bad people because of our views. That can happen to any group
@thefalselemon579Ай бұрын
@@melonyrobinson9944 Being objectively wrong about a moral issue will often put you in a precarious position. Pro-choice people don't condone the murder of babies who have been born. And late-term abortions are very contentious among even the most liberal of pro-choicers. Pro-birthers, as you should be more aptly called, are so totalitarian in your views that you make the case that there is no situation that warrants abortion. You ignore r4pe cases, child r4pe and child pregnancy cases, and cases in which the health of the mother is at stake. You have no grounds for your beliefs. This video and the supposed organization just feel like a psy-op created by christian pro-birthers to attempt to sway atheists to their cause.

@@melonyrobinson9944you could say this about anything. “I live in a very pro-lgbtq state, so being anti-gay is seen as negative” or “I live in a very diverse area, where being a raci st is looked down on” You are ostracized because you are wrong. And the only reason you are ostracized for being wrong is because you tell people about your opinion. And since you do not have to have an abortion if you do not want to, your opinion on whether other people do is irrelevant

@@BandlerChing from a pro life perspective, abortion is literally murder, so saying that we shouldn't care if anyone has an abortion is not a compelling argument

@@thefalselemon579 actually some pro choices do condone killing born children (partial birth abortion). Plus many deny that late term abortions that are not medically necessary happen. "Pro birthers" do actually support exceptions for if an abortion is medically necessary. And honestly, we generally don't support other exceptions because it would be morally inconsistent, but many pro lifers would be glad even for a ban with rape and incest exceptions, especially since those only make up a small minority of abortions anyway. The pro life view is grounded in biology and a belief in basic human rights for all humans. Plus pro choicers assume thay we dont care about the women involved at all, when we actually provide lots of resources for them and advocate on their behalf. Assuming that this group must be Christian because you don't understand their views is honestly rather shallow. Also calling us pro birthers just means no one will take you seriously. It's a strawman and shows that you have no understanding of our actual beliefs or perspective, which is kind of important to have if you are arguing against someone.
