Great Interview! Seriously GM Jackencola was a player who was one of the first who started the Iconic Poetry Jams and then became a game master. He does so many amazing things for the community. The reason people should try Gorgon is because it's not some corporate game, the developers actually interact with the community on a daily basis and the community definitely benefits from the great interaction.

I’ve been trying to get into Gordon every few months for a year or two now and I just bounce off. It’s old school graphically, but I’ve noticed it’s not really group focused early on in my experience. Time to kill on mobs is way too fast and exp isn’t shared if you don’t do damage. Last two groups I ran the crypts with ran so fast and killed everything in 2 hits while I was trying to keep up. 0 exp for me for most of the dungeon. After that I logged out and haven’t even thought to come back

This is great feedback and I'm sorry you had a negative experience. Groups early on can have odd pacing since mobs still aren't tanky enough to live sufficiently long for every player to 'tag' via some skill. I have found that smaller groups -- or duos -- work well (or being slightly carried by a veteran). Regardless, I hope you find a MMO home! 💖

@@MarleMMO yeah I have been really searching for a more old school experience to get back my eq days and I was hopeful PG would give me something. I like it enough but it’s a bit overcomplicated in terms of skills and stuff like that which I could get over but the mobs being 2-3 shots was too much for me.

@@MarleMMO oh man I had a friend who was obsessed with NWN pirate servers! I’m currently waiting on pantheon rise of the fallen and I’m keeping an eye on embers adrift tho idk since they changed hands from SoL

I never been actioned in gorgon, though I knew a player that was perma banned, I noticed they got it reversed after sometime despite it honestly being justified, so I think there's a forgiveness system in a sense. But that being said, I do notice some favoritism among veterans, the old guard if you will, I've been around for a long time, and grouped with the big dogs from time to time, but never felt as respected as their volunteers, despite applying for it.

@@MarleMMO I wouldn't say the development team, like citan, but anyone in control of moderation, it's sort of a in-group for any of those players, vs the normal players, plus I had my run in with a couple guides that basically pretend you're invisible. Though I've encountered some players like that too, mob tag stealing, and the such. But you would expect a guide to be a little more courteous. if anything

This game does not have a huge focus on PVP. It's focus is on PVE. With that being said there is a cauldron which enables PVP for 5 mins and also a cellar in Serbule where players can try their builds against each other in PVP for fun.
