Why don't they use Artificial Intelligence to cut down the bulk of the work? And Unreal Engine 5? ffs PalWorld did it on a budget of 10k LOOK AT THE RESULTS! The AI won't eliminate the work but by downsizing the redundancies and refining the outputs, work could be reduced. Why don't you ask the dev team if they should?

The community truly is amazing and what makes the game stand out - It may not have the gameplay or standards of a more popular MMO, but I don't think it'd have the same community either. I remember when I first started playing, I accidentally did something wrong and ended up on the ass end of the world in a high level zone with no idea how to return. Thankfully, some players helped me and even gave me my first mount. Later in the week, I'd log back in after having logged out in the tavern, only to find the most people I'd ever seen in the game all crammed into the tavern reading poetry and enjoying general festivities. It was pretty dang cool.

I come back to this game probably twice a year but never play more than a few days. There’s SO many systems that I get overwhelmed and end up dropping off because I feel like I’m just not doing the right thing. I love the premise of the game though and how creative the classes are. It’s just a lot to take in as a beginner!

Hm, that's a great question. I did back via KS back in the day, and I think I synced my Steam account with their game account. I used to play on their client yet now I do via Steam. Perhaps an admin can comment here as I do not know entirely what your situation may entail. 💖

tried the demo thing and loved it but as soon as I bought and left the tutorial area, I was overwhelmed. I didn't know where to go, where are the newbie appropriate areas, how to find new gear, find quests that I can actually manage being a fresh spawn ect... I wandered into the first town, messed around a bit but didn't accomplish anything then went into some fields and fought monsters then found a quest about some creature in a dudes barn, proceeded to die multiple times..finally decided to give up. I'll admit I was being lazy in looking up this information or finding guides and learning the mechanics, finding starting points for self set goals or finding another player to help me but like..yeah the lack of handholding once you're free to roam is a bit off putting especially with how deep the systems are in this game.

There are various guilds in the game that are very helpful and can help either guide new players or fill in the gaps. Guilds such as Floof Troop lead by Kaskrim actively help new players, there's even some guilds that are more animal focused.

What's ridiculous is that not enough people are playing it. It's easily one of the better MMORPG experiences on the market with plenty of new people joining their Discord daily, but it would seem that the rate of attrition is really high because the population isn't growing. It has one of the most welcoming communities so perhaps it's the graphics and animations that continue to offend?

I agree with the premise -- what I'd love to see is a Venn diagram of average player time before bouncing and the number of players in that group who have also left the newbie island. 💖 I sense that the post-Anagoge experience is so very different that players are either confused or notice a quality/experience difference.

Project Gorgon is absolutely a gem of a unique MMO that's sadly faced with multiple hurdles: 1. Obviously the look will turn off a lot of folks. Not much can be done about that since this is appealing to folks who enjoy the old school vibes and want something akin to OSRS or the MMOs of the late 90's/early 2000's. 2. The $40 price point is a big ask even with the Demo, so having a cheaper $15/$20 version would def be a good idea, maybe letting folks experience more of the game and let them get to the mid-game which is like skill level 40-50ish? 3. The game largely lacks advertising so word of mouth is pretty much essential to try and get more eyes on this game. But the other two hurdles can really but a damper on building up any momentum. I think if they can tackle #2 by introducing a cheaper buy-in to experience more of the game (with then unlocking the rest of the game being at a reduced price of course) than what the demo offers (which is a good amount of content, but folks aren't able to get horses for example since Eltibule is locked off), that will hopefully go a long way to help get more folks interested and willing to check it out while paying up whatever lower amount. Then from there, hopefully better momentum can be grown as more folks interested in the game means more potential word of mouth and so on.

I failed to get into it, it is still in my steam library and I even a friend fan of the game since 6 years. The issues I have with gorgon: - world build makes 0 sense, there is absolutely 0 ergonomy and you have to use guides/wiki/handholding at first which absolutely makes you loose any sense of immersion, you're basically catapulted into a world of spreadsheets post demo alt tabbing between wiki and a world that looks like shit and makes no sense - the gameplay loop mainly revolves around weekly caps when progressing, it is a B2P game and the core of the game works like a f2p stamina bar mobile game xd - the way to train and evolve your character is unrefined and unfun(hoard shit to dump on npcs, spam stuffs to incidentally train skills in combat, clic things on a crappy "dead monster ui") It may seem arsh but there are some great things in there, it is just very poorly made imho. It was 2 years ago. Now what the games need: - better/more ux friendly ui, currently it looks and feel really really bad - gameplay elements that respect the players. Do not force unnecessary clics, just remove arbitrary clics or transform them into engaging minigames. When I played a bit it was retarded, my friend made me setup few things to multi train things in combat, apparently everybody does that and it absolutely makes 0 sense - there need to be a skills and npc diagram in game, the knowledge is here already, do not alienate players - the world building imho needs to be seriously revamped What the game done right: - resource system is pretty great - community is pretty tight

Its populated by less than 100 people now. I had a lot of fun in 1300 hours but was ultimately turned off by certain elements in the community. And the inventory system is terrible. Liked the spells and consumable items and pets though. Me and chopjaw went through a lot together.

Average high per month is around 250 concurrent. It depends on the title, yet usually "active monthly users" is about 10x that amount, so ~2,500 PG players. Glad you enjoyed over 1,000 hours! 💖

I played this for awhile a few years ago... I am just really put off when I am changed into some animal with no control over it. I know, I get it... it's more like a free-form tabletop adventure, I'm supposed to expect the unexpected, think creatively, all that stuff... I get it, I just don't want it. If there was some way I could avoid being surprise-morphed into some form I absolutely do not want to play as, I'd probably give it another shot. I do like the slower pace and the oldschool aesthetic of it.

lmao you do have full say in being morphed. as long as you loot the body of what morphed you. you will instantly unmorph. also there are potions that will also unmorph you.

@@mercster morphing only replaces one of your skill bars. and i only know of 2 bosses that even do that. try grouping with other players, exp is not split so grouping is just faster leveling

I don't need to be convinced it's not that big of a deal or whatever... if you can tell me how to reliably never get morphed, I'll play again. I have quit the game after a week of playing. I can not look at that ugly ass grass map anymore. It has to be the biggest eyesore i ever seen. And the walking around barren terrain for hours i'm just done with that bs. The devs are basically a bunch of scammers too. they are selling the game for 30 bucks and VIP sub and no one is dumb enough to fall for that so now they want to lower the price to 10 or 15, what happens to everybody else that paid 30?
