I'm a public school teacher in central FL. I look around whenever I'm at a school gathering/meeting where people are asked to bow their heads and pray. I always scan the room during the prayer to see how many heads are not bowed (and eyes open), I am always pleasantly surprised. someone has to speak for us because speaking for ourselves would be detrimental to our careers. THANK YOU FFRF!

So proud of them. Their generation is buying into religion less and less, and those zealots can't stand it

Everyone is born atheist. Religion has to be taught. Atheism doesn't have to be taught.

If Christian board members believe that God is everywhere and that he has a perfect plan, then the only reason to address that God with a public demonstration of prayer is to gain accolades for their own selfish interest.

So glad we have our own Atheist organizations to oppose religious bullying...thanks for all you do guys and gals.

Just because these school boards and its members are afraid to pray that doesn’t mean we all are. If they are some of us evangelists or preachers from here in the south will be more than happy to come do the job for them. GUARANTEED

I had my first Amendment rights taken away, the first day I was adopted.
@dianahill51168 ай бұрын
I was adopted. The emotional, mental, physical and verbal abuse started on the first day. I am not disputing the legal system/judge's decision on having me removed from the first group of people. And, don't want that custody or authority to be given back to my biological relatives or their relatives. Waiting to have my adoption nullified. To be emancipated.

When you hear someone say "school boar-duh" you know they are preaching.

If you want prayer then go to church, home but not in school board meetings, education must be separate from religion 😢

I posted this comment on Hemant Mehta's newest "Friendly Atheist" podcast, and it's appropriate that I post this comment here as well:- There is one *SEVERE DEFECT* in the First Amendment to America's constitution, this is that the part prohibiting the Federal, or any state governments from establishing a state religion, or favouring one religion over another, *HAS NOT BEEN ENACTED INTO A LAW!* This is a *MAJOR FAILURE* and *MUST BE CORRECTED* so that this *LAW* carries *HEAVY PENALTIES* if broken, and this *LAW* should *OVERRIDE ALL STATE LAWS* even if those state laws are in agreement. This would then act as a deterrent against inflicting religion on anyone and everyone. I reposted the comment here because it needs to be seen by enough people in the Atheist community, both in America and here in my home country, Australia, as well as other countries.

Maybe we should just start talking when they start praying . Or Move around and make noise, stand on a chair, recite a different prayer.

I very much appreciate your focus and effort to promote secular law, and I'm pleased to hear your assessment of why "Christians" are driven to pray out loud and en masse. I would love to see a movement to reschool these pretenders with their master's own words because if they were truly walking in his footprints they would do as he tells them. This quoted teaching is from the KJV red-letter edition and, if this information were widely known, it could of itself put and end to our offensive public prayer problem: Matthew:6:5: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Matthew:6:6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Its always Christians fighting for school prayer or government. I never hear of any other religion. Tell them let ALL religions pray, including church of Satan or no prayer. Makes me so angry

Our local school board has a loophole where they say leaders of all different faiths can sign up to open the meetings. I so wish we had a local church of Satan to sign up. See if the schedule is suddenly full then 😂.

12:33 Reading the above in freeze-frame the second paragraph's opening sentence is *EXTREMELY WRONG* as the prayer *VIOLATES ALL LAWS* attained from the First Amendment of America's constitution, but, as I said earlier, the Amendment *ITSELF* should be *ENACTED INTO LAW WITH HEAVY PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF!*
