Dickey is always dropping knowledge. There was a time I used to get my hair straightened all the time but I never got heat damage but I realize it’s because my hair stayed drenched in water and conditioner between heat styling. If you’re a natural that doesn’t keep your hair super hydrated often, I definitely say stay away from heat because you will get heat damage.

When I was heat damaged last year, daily wash n go's bought back my curls. So its worth a try. It worked for me. Other wise, cutting it off is the alternative

I never get heat damage... I blow dry my hair weekly, using a heat protectant just to stretch and I deep condition weekly. I rarely use a curling iron or flat iron. This is my regimen for cold winter months here in Chicago. To stretch my hair for summer months, I usually let it dry in a slicked back ponytail.

DENISE GILES Exactly! My hair is fine w/ medium density and I diffuse 3-5 days a week with no damage (so far). I know I need to stop, but I hate wet scalp. LoL

I’m going to try your conditioning recommendation. Does hair rules sale a heat protectant? Are heat protectant seven beneficial to use? Are protein treatments beneficial to use prior to heat styling? Thank you Dickie

I stopped relaxing my hair back in 2010 and stopped getting flat irons a couple years later. I had heat damaged and miraculously got my naturally curly hair back without any cutting. I promise it's like it happened overnight. Bella Curls is the ish.

Great info! I'm guessing that damage from color should be cut off too right? How do you prevent it???
@hairrules6 жыл бұрын
Damage from color should be cut, too. Chemical damage is even more sever than heat damage. One way to prevent this is to make sure your colorist is experienced and has the proper training.

Will your hair become hydra fatigued if you do wash and goes every 2-3 days??
@GinaJonesStillettoQueen5 жыл бұрын
No. As long as it is dried in between. I just go outside in the warmer months or defuse with a blow dryer.

Hi Dickey! Thanks for all of your advice. My hair is so much healthier because of you but I have a question. I have 4C hair that is extremely dry but I like to wear my hair in braids for 8wks at a time. Can you recommend a regime that would help me prepare my hair for 8weeks of braids?

Hi Dickey! What do you feel about an Aztec bentonite clay, and apple cider vinegar mask? I use it when my 3b/4a combo hair texture gets loose. Does this help?

That intro! 🤣 how/why does wash 'n go's help between heat styling? You mentioned that in this video.
@preciouslafleur53906 жыл бұрын
Ange N.O. wash styling is the best way to moisturize and hydrate our hair because we're using water on our hair daily. Water is the best moisturizer for our hair. If we're not using water daily there's a good chance that our hair is dry. Pressing dry hair will dry our hair out more to the point that it's fried. You cannot do anything with fried hair. I hope I answered your question.

Precious Lafleur I thought that was a great explanation of it
@surVIVEr286 жыл бұрын
Ange N.O. to hear his explanation I think he starts at 2:25. I believe the point that he's making is that wash and go styling helps prep your hair to be moisturize before you go in there with that heat. And if you are doing wash and go Styles in between your heat Styles your hair are is going to be properly moisturize. Split Endz, he damaged not from processing Etc that comes from dry hair and he saying that are textures need to have plenty of hydration and moisture
