Greg - Great content as always. Curious as to your opinion on the % chance this ban goes thru. I know recently you had said you didn't feel it would but to stay vigilant. Are you still thinking that it has a low chance?

The FCC does have an enforcement bureau. It's more for maliciously jamming the radio frequencies though. Like when I lived in Detroit I had a neighbor that would key up and play music alot over the repeater. Thats a tower like a tv tower or radio tower so it was heard for miles and cities. Needles to say we went out looking for that person and they didnt do that very much longer. Last I heard they took his equipment and he had like a 30K fine. See something called fox hunting if interested. I dont think they would do much for drones though. (1) You don't hold the ORIGINAL license. & (2) Your NOT being intentionally malicious.

With regard to the FCC question, I have no idea what their agents, if any, look like either. But here is what happened. My father daily would use his single side band radio in the office to re-broadcast the daily fishery news and prices at the auction to the 500 boat fishing fleet several hundred miles off-shore. One day he got a letter from the FCC with a $10,000 fine. No complaint, no source, no calls, no questions, no trial, no nothing. Just a $10,000 fine. He took the radio to the local radio repair people and they discovered that the radio had slid off the assigned channel a bit but the boats still got the signal. It was just not spot on. (daily use for years didn’t help.). They repaired it and got it back on the right frequency but the FCC still wanted their blood money. Like you said….corruption and invisible agents?!

You can't miss them. Their in white vans and its not just one when they receive a complaint. You will know. Maybe not if your not doing anything but if your intentionally doing something it wont be a surprise. $10K is not that bad, I've heard up to $50K for some pirates that continue to violate the bands. They usually don't care just pay the fine and do the time. Your father was in violation if he was 5 kz off freq. Should of had external monitoring hooked up. Would of saved him $10K. Also, if he was off freq how did other people receive the broadcast??? Don't know if I really believe this one!

When thinking about the "best drone to use for thermal" imaging, please advise people to begin with thinking about the work products they plan to produce and then look at what software will support the workflow needed and then which drones/cameras are supported by the software. The workflow for generating some deliverables may not be possible just because a drone has a thermal camera capability!! Also, anyone interested in professional infrared thermography work, please investigate options for achieving Level I & II certification. Feel free to message me for more information.

About the drone and amateur radio question thats a hard NO. YOU can use frequencies YOUR licensed for. Business Band licenses can't use ham! can't use something called GMRS for ham. GMRS can do GMRS. applies to anything else band or license wise. You dont hold a LICENSE for the drone your flying like I stated before!
