Great idea! The trick I learned to keep any paint from getting under the tape is to seal the tape with acrylic matte medium and let it dry before you begin the piece. The matte medium dries clear and will seal the tape edges and also give you a smoother surface to paint on. Then, when you pull the tape off, you will get a perfect clean line with no bleeding.

Hey Askari! I came across your feed from the Yes Theory channel/groups and just wanna say I really enjoy your feed and this video. You look like an amazing person with a great personality! I think the Yes Fam is so important because it teaches us that through seeking discomfort, we are all better than we think we are. It's something that I try to emulate with my channel - teaching people that, through discomfort & challenging your mindset, you can prove to yourself that you are better than you think! Hope you have an awesome day 😁☝🏻

Another amazing video! So beautiful! I was holding my breath when you pulled the tape. I loved it even more when you went in and filled in the negative space. My Giotto came today with some small tip bottles. Now waiting for some alcohol inks to begin practicing. Practice,Practice,Practice!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your artistic talent with us!

I love it! I think you should call it 'Bridging the Gap'... it's very spiritual for me and has encouraged me to take up alcohol ink painting as part of my recovery journey x

Instead of blue masking, you should try Frog tape. House painters use that when they need to get a clean edge.

Once again your excellence as an instructor shines here! I admire your patience and diligence. I actually prefer the blurred lines rather than the clean edge. Well done!

Norman Rockwell was once asked what do you do if you make a mistake while painting? He replied; "You get down on your knees and thank God". Meaning it'll keep those creative juices flowing.

I really enjoyed this! Beautiful! I would like to do a large canvas for my home using a color like Payne’s grey as my primary. I realized many colors will come from it. I like the rust/ yellow colors in this also. Maybe some white. Is that too many colors to use at once? Also, do I need to gesso on a pre-primed canvas? Thanks for sharing your work.
@AskariArt4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I wouldn't use gesso, you need a better sealer like Kilz2 water-based. I would buy some cheap small Canvas' to practice before moving up to a larger painting. You need to work on it one color at a time it will be less overwhelming.

You could also paint over the edge with acrylic paint to make it crisp?
@marielpackard89353 жыл бұрын
I also wonder if masking liquid would make crisper lines.

It looks so beautiful filled in too, though. I don't think I would have done that because I would have been so focused on my original goal. But it's beautiful. Inspiring.
