Hey DocJo! new subscriber. couple of questions. 1. what I think is golfers elbow - main pain is right on the ball of that joint inside/bottom of elbow. sensitive to the touch. on doing the mobilization I can feel it in the muscles in that area. does it sound like golfers elbow to you? 2. I have ordered the bar. is there something i can use for the twist exercise until i receive it? Tried with a rolled up hand towel with limited success. thanks!

@@Chess2000 the Tyler twist exercise with the Thera bar involves aggressively loading the eccentric portion of the movement. This is generally not trained, which is why it is more susceptible to injury. The tendons are no longer inflamed, but disorganized, so you need to progressively overload the tendons to make them stronger. I now perform a regular elbow routine to prevent this issue from happening again.

Thank you for the video and the tips! I’ve also found that doing dead hangs from a pull-up bar for 2-3 sets everyday really helps my pain, and also helps stretch and relax the shoulders and the back. @AskDoctorJo I've had it on my right arm for six years. With cortisone, I had no more pain. I haven't had any pain for 4 years. Now the pain started again in my right arm, and three months later I developed golfer's elbow in my left arm. What could be the reason? I didn't even do any hard work. However, I had the same problem in my left arm. What do you think may be the reason why it is on both arms? I have no pain in my neck or shoulder.

Dr. Jo, I've really found your videos on tennis and golfer elbow to be easy-to-follow and helpful. Now, from tennis, I've got what I think is golfer's elbow. So, I'm doing your golfer's elbow set of exercises. My question: is there any harm from doing both your sets of tennis and golfer's elbow exercises? (I think there is some overlap on the exercises, but certainly the flexbar exercise is different between your two videos.)

Thanks so much for this video, Dr. Jo! I have golfer’s elbow from indoor rock climbing. I ordered the Simian arm support…should I wear it during climbing, before, after, or all the time?

Hello Doc, Thank you for the video. Will start your suggestions. Have been dealing with golfer's elbow this for over 6 months. Would a TENS or EMS device be helpful in dealing with it? Thank you!

I’m dealing with both tennis elbow and golfers elbow...will doing the exercises for one bother the other? Or should I do all? Love your videos

Thanks! Most of them overlap anyway, so unless they feel like they are irritating an area, doing both should be fine.

Thanks. Therapeutic exercises can be done 2-3 times a day. They can be done all at once, or broken up into sessions through out the day.

My left arm is such a mess and I had six diagnosis so far. Think I will settle for tennis and golfers elbow. I can’t straighten my arm. Brace give some immediate relief but arm gets irritated and I have to remove it. Had an MRI that ruled out nerve damage.

Hi Dr Jo, thanks for this video. I am a tennis player and have had elbow pain for almost a year now which always gets worse when I play tennis. The pain is mainly between the tricep and the elbow, and I also get some pain on the inside of the elbow. I have been recovering from biceps tendonitis (which caused bad shoulder pain) for a long time and I am wondering if this might be linked to my elbow pain. I don’t know what to do about this debilitating pain. Should I ice? What exercises should I do? Resting it relieves some pain but as soon as I increase the workload the pain comes back. I have never received a diagnosis for this. Thank you so much, I would really appreciate any advice!

Dr. Jo when do use the simian brace--when you're doing these rehab exercises or all the time till it feels better or do you even wear it after you return to resistance training, like if I'm doing pullups? Thx Clay

Hello Doctor Jo, is the soft tissue mobilisation also good as a warmup, even if there is no inflammation or pain? Or would it cause some unnecessary damage ? Thanks !
@AskDoctorJo
@AskDoctorJo Жыл бұрын
If there is no inflammation or pain, a dynamic warm up would probably be better, but as long as tissue mobilization is done correctly, it should not cause damage.

Hey Doctor Joe! I don't expect an answer but maybe I'll be lucky! It could literally change my life. What if I have 'semi' golfers elbow but my main issue is with the flexor in the WRIST not at the elbow. So flexor, wrist, pinkie side is my main issue. Do you recommend the same exercises? Should I 'mobilize' the tendon tissue in the wrist the same way by 'rubbing' the skin? Do you have any other recommendations? I have been struggling with mostly this for almost 2 years now and will probably soon loose my job because of it. Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

Have you been diagnosed with Golfer's elbow? Maybe it's something else like cubital tunnel syndrome or even carpal tunnel syndrome. If there is any way you can go see a physical therapist for an evaluation they would be able to help you figure it out.

Hey Doc! i feel i have golfers elbow, but it seems it is sore slightly higher than your video, my elbow bone fells like i have a match to it when touching and when i ice it turns painful,a sharp pain..so mainly it from the knobby elbow bone and an inch up, been doing your excercises and hoping it gets better soon, thanks....
@AskDoctorJo
@AskDoctorJo 5 жыл бұрын
If it's slightly in between the knobby area, that is where your ulnar nerve (or the "funny bone") is. It might be more cubital tunnel syndrome. I have a video for that too if you want to research it and see if that's more what you think you might have.
