Jay I am 54 and my driver swing speed nowadays is around 90mph. I found by increasing the loft on my Ping G430 10.5 UP TO 12 degrees, I was hitting the ball further so you are absolutely spot on. As we get older...we need more loft. Forget about ego.

Great review. Since i was custom fit last Sept. for my TSR3 driver, I'm not looking to change. If i was, this PXG would be one of my top options to try out along with Ping (g430 max 10k and Callaway (AI Smoke)

I've played the Black Ops driver for most of 2024 and it performed outstanding for me. So much so I have no desire to try any of the new drivers coming out in 2025.
@AskGolfNut22 күн бұрын
Performs extremely well and if you have found the percect driver for you absolutely I would stick with this.... If it's not broke.... Don't fix it 👍👍

I play this driver, G430 10K, and Miz STMax; and this driver always is the most consistent.

Wow Jay!!!! that driver looked like it was reading your mind.... Buddy you always seem to make me want what ever driver you're testing... I almost ordered the Eleven driver right after your video even though I had never hit it..... 0311 looks very nice in your hands... but your swing is what keeps me going to the range.... If I made a driver, irons or woods I would definitely want you to test it. You do such a great job.... thanks for your work. I'm on my second stealth 2 and it's showing signs of wanting replaced.... I don't think my driver swing and a carbon face is a good match. I would love it if I could and would always find an acceptable part of the face but my tendencies are Toe ish and low-toe ....... when I saw your forgiveness ratios for this driver I was so Intrigued..... Definitely on my radar... thanks again....

Thanks for the kind words Les, absolutely should give this one and also the ST230 Max if you are a toe and a low toe misser of the club 👍

Hi Jay, that heat map on the club face is unreal and it’s definitely on the short list of drivers to try, cheers.
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Definitely surprised me whilst testing so in reality seeing how good it was wasn't too much of a surprise.... In testing it was just so consistent from really quite poor strikes 👍

For anyone toe biased in their driver swings, this must definitely go on the shortlist!
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
For anyone who doesn't routinely hit it from the shaft adapter should be putting this driver on the test list for sure 😁👍
@darrenrider56762 ай бұрын
I own one of these drivers, compared to an AI smoke, the smoke is too glossy in comparison. Although the PXG is glossy, I love it, it just offers a lot more customisation than anything else on the market, and a lot easier, so after the fitting it's a lot easier to adjust than anything else on the market
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Absolutely when you look at the shaft adapter adjustments and the weight port adjustments, you can go crazy counting the possible combinations 😁👍
@darrenrider56762 ай бұрын
@@AskGolfNut don't get me wrong brands like Taylormade offer more hozel adjustment but that would be too easy to get lost in the minefield, but they don't really offer much weighting options, whereas PXG hozel is simple, open face with lower loft, close face more loft, which alters direction, then the weight ports refine direction. As someone without access to a launch monitor sim, playing once a week, play 2 rounds adjust what you think, go again 2 rounds, you can sort it fairly quickly, but when you've got 16 hozel settings on TM, it could take you all year to fine tune! In all honesty I would struggle to fine tune with your weight ports, I've got a 10g, 12.5g and a 2.5 so between 12.5g and 2.5g you have, 10g difference is polar opposite sides of the golf course for me, whereas I currently have the 12.5g toe, 10g heel, 2.5 rear to make slightly fade bias, 2.5g difference, but the weight kits on their website can offer a real fine tune. I'm a 16hcp and feel most of my shots dropped are off the tee, and since putting the PXG in the bag I've never felt as in tune with my driver to really unlock the lower scores

Be interested to see the black ops against some of the previous pxg models … the proto onwards have had 3 or 4 weight ports …so maybe they are 10k alternatives with a 20g weight in the back…
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Possibly but it's also very much where the weights are also placed that is key. Not having tested the previous models of them I wouldn't know how they'd perform in comparison 🤷👍
@glenock7662 ай бұрын
Great vid i really appreciate the work put in the heat map of the head. Question would moving the weights around change the heat map at all? Or making it super light or heavy?
@andy_bickley2 ай бұрын
Short answer yes, but not by a whole lot, a smaller rear weight would make the green area slightly smaller. moving it left or right would move the green spot side to side. i Beleive the most you can move the CG is less than 5mm , so if the face is 100m wide you can gauge how much the green would move.
@paulmcgee18672 ай бұрын
Just looking at the green area I am thinking that’s a driver for me!
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Well as long as you can hit it from there and not the red area..... Although thats basically the shaft adapter so as long as you don't routinely shank the Driver, all is good 😁👍

Thought id ask on your current latest video, but is there even a point to choosing between the Wilson staff cb and blade? They have nearly identical performance
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Only really if it's a confidence thing, or aesthetics etc. Personally my overall pick would be the CB...... But.... That blade looks lovely 😊👍

Looks like a fantastic choice for the slower swing speed player like me, with that huge green and yellow face area. BTW, have you tested the XXIO black drivers, the first model, which I have, with orange highlights on the bottom, not adjustable, and the latest model with green highlights, adjustable. They are supposed to be very forgiving. Would like to see what their green and yellow face areas look like.

Great review. Looks like a good driver. Did you like the black ops or the qi10 LS better. Which is better in your opinion
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
Personally its the Black Ops, but it's my own experience, always best to give them a go yourself. For me the Black OPS has a really forgiving face and is very consistent from the miss strike locations that I commonly visit 🙂👍

Heard this is also 10K MOI. Heat map is insane.
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
It's in standard form just under the 10K banner however with installing the heavier weights that PXG offer it does then push it into the 10K territory, although by that point you are more than likely pushing too heavy a swing weight 👍

I tried this driver, but didnt stack up against my AiSmoke triple diamond for distance and dispersion. The triple diamond is incredibly forgiving for a low spin driver, and just suits my spin profile, i over span the PXG
@darrenrider56762 ай бұрын
Did you try the PXG tour head or just the XF? the PXG tour head is possibly the lowest spinning driver of 24
@AskGolfNut2 ай бұрын
I tried both the new Black Ops Driver (what's in the video) and also the Black Ops Tour.... The Tour is a bit too sensitive to tilt axis and also loves the right hand side of the course 😊👍
