Based on the comments I can see some people are confused if I was legally allowed to do the flight. That is why I called to confirm that I was allowed to do the flight, however who is going to fly the flight is at the captain's discretion on any given day. That is why I was asking him to fly, not because it was prohibited for me to fly it. Enjoy the video.

@Phillip Banes You can't simulate real life, also you can't realistically or economically train pilots on every single "special" airport. Also, booking simulator sessions just to go to one airport wouldn't be economical either. In this case, just going and doing it is pretty much the best option if the captain has flown in there before, and can ensure a safe landing.

I appreciate seeing a new perspective on MEX which is a fascinating airport and probably "fun" to fly into.

@@Anna_Xor I’ve definitely prayed during a landing or two. Also how the airport is directly in the middle of the city and probably overdue to be replaced. @Anna_Xor Жыл бұрын
@@cccherry05 I've flown in some 737s as well. I don't know if I just lucked out and the pilots were really skilled but on my last two trips the landings and takeoffs from Mexico City haven't been that bad. (I probably just jinxed myself.) There have been attempts in the past to replace the airport but for some reason it never works out. I guess it's because it's more accessible where it is, It's not even a 20-minute drive from the Zócalo in the city centre. In my opinion the only thing that would actually work would be to expand it's but it would displace a lot of people. Originally it was at the edge of the the city but now the city and metropolitan area have grown so much that now it's in the middle of everything.

The -8 isn't just bigger, its a lot heavier. The skin was gauged up over the -400 and there's extra metal in the nose gear torque boxes, and you actually have less lift from the flaps because they are not segmented like the -400 flaps, and the main landing gear doors look different on the -8 because they had to be redesigned so the horizontal stab would work efficiently. This is one of the more entertaining episodes, loved it! I'm an ultralight pilot so this makes me look ridiculous.

Loved "La tarjeta no está funcionando" I didn't realize you knew Spanish! Former Spanish teacher here tip: You can also use just the regular present tense to indicate what's currently going on, so an option is: La tarjeta no funciona (S sound on the C - pronounced foon-si-oh-nandoh)

Another good one, Kelsey--I really like this new vlog style! So glad you were able to convince the captain to let you fly the landing. You're going to make a great captain; hope you invite us all to your virtual promotion party!!

The launch into the bed at the end was one of your most impressive flights, and that's saying something! 😁

. I've been away from your channel for a while. So here I am, startled and pleased with what you're doing with editing - fades, long shots for the narrative, establishment shots, character portrayal and more. Loving your channel more and more.

Rumor has it that Kelsey passed up a captaincy in exchange for a guarantee of free breakfasts everywhere he lands.

Hard to believe that just 20 years ago, wifi was hardly anywhere. You knew you were in a fancy hotel if it had wifi, and you probably paid a pretty penny for access to it. Times have changed and technology marches on!

Nice that you got to check that off the bucket list, only shame is that we weren't allowed to see more of it!

When I was a F/A with American I can remember my first time flying into there. Nobody told me about the altitude there. So as we’re walking through the airport to catch our limo I started having a very hard time breathing - to the point I thought I was having a medical. The captain proceeded to tell me about the high altitude. That was a brief scary moment for me. Also, Mexico City smells like sulphur. I do have to say the people there were some of the most nicest and welcoming in all my travel experience. 🌴☀️🌴

Holy cow, that's a lot higher than Denver. I had no idea. And I noticed the air thing in Denver too but was expecting it.

When you showed the diagram of that airport and all that red lit up, I would like oh boy. This is going to be a nightmare for you guys.

I want you to know Kelsey I've been watching your videos for quite a time now and I've always been interested in aviation my dad was in the army Air corps and then the United States Air Force he taught aircraft maintenance at Sheppard Air Force base but man I would go up with you anytime and I would feel completely safe but anyway I like the excitement you had in your face when he allowed you to land there that was cool.

Kelsey: Can I fly this leg? Captain: I was gonna fly but if you wanted to, I could care less. Then that face the Kelsey makes. I’m laughing so hard.

No upvote from me. Asking for likes is pathetic

@@ericmcgovern1764 so you don't agree that kelsey never dissapoints? I believe he's not asking for himself but to support what he says, which is... well, read the comment. You are right tho. even if politicians do it all the time and any other elected official, it's certainly pathetic to ask for support of a true fact, right? I don't know man, maybe you should start considering more than what you can see on the surface before taking decisions on stuff. I'm sure it would be a great life improvement for you and the people around. If not that, how about injecting some humoristic fun into your life once in a while. I guess it's pathetic too.

@@ericmcgovern1764 Yeah but didn't really ask. I did that to see who agrees with me. I don't care about likes. They don't do anything.

The video editing and content is TOP NOTCH, Kelsey! It feels like I'm watching a Hollywood production...just on a topic that I actually care about! Thanks!
