@@TheLoneMarksmanno. It’s the Russian government that pushes the thought that people can’t do anything and there’s no hope. This is how russians keep themselves enslaved and why they bring this slavery to others. And the fundamental difference and the reason they failed and will fail more, is that Ukrainians do NOT believe that „nobody can do anything“, and these people refuse to become part of this hopeless hole of violence where everyone is a victim and therefore legalises violence for themselves. F that.

My grandmother is 99 and grew up under Nazi occupation in northern France. Her stories always fascinated me because it's so hard to imagine how anyone can survive and thrive under such uncertain conditions. One of the best bits of wisdom she gave me most certainly was born from that time in her life: "When we can't do what we want, we do what we can." I see that illustrated by all of the people in this video. -- My heart is with the people of Ukraine, and people suffering all over the world. Those who maintain their humanity in the face of suffering are the most courageous and beautiful among us.

@kareninalabama29 күн бұрын
@@curious_O_o, but they're not "chill" about it. And just as in Nazi Germany, where many (if not most) of the German people did not support what the government was doing, many Russians do not support what their government is doing either. Most people just want to live in peace. Unfortunately, there is a difference between not supporting something and actively opposing it. But when people live under an oppressive, tyrannical government, they become afraid to take a risk by becoming very vocal about their opposition. I have a dear friend from Iran; as she told me, before Khomeini took power, there were many who believed his lies and the few who saw through him really couldn't do much about it. Then, after he was elected and the majority quickly realized that he was a liar and a tyrant, it was too late because he controlled everything. And those who were outspoken in their criticism of him quickly disappeared. So the majority became afraid to publicly criticize him or the government. Such is how it was in Nazi Germany and most likely now in Russia.

It's nice to see, but... The question is a marker (for me). Do you think that IF (and, I hope, *when*) Putin's Russia falls, then the Russian Federation will have to pay reparations to Ukraine like Germany has been doing for the last 60 years? I am for peace throughout the world and for friendship between peoples, and for everything good.. But.. Fuck! I lost my home, business in my native Donetsk back in 2014! Relatives and friends remained there... Part of my life! Thank God, none of my loved ones died, probably because I can reason +/- adequately. I'm not saying that all Russians are enemies. But, I have seen more than once how, when asked a similar question, "other Russians" became embarrassed and tried to evade. Actually i asume that when he started crying, the ukrainian man thought (do not forget they reach nearly 3 years of war) that this guys was maybe a Legionaire (international legion) or lost a friend in that war - because many people from many different countries fight for ukraine. He (the ukrainian) did not expect that someone would cry over people that the guy never met. But i think the - that the ukrainian guy thought for a moment that this guy (who was crying) is a veteran from the Ukrainian Legion with PTSD whatever you never know. Just look how soft he ask - why is he crying SUPER BAFFLED - but when the other guy simply responded, well yes- he just has empathy - the Ukrainian was like ............ ah ok (we are used to that and do not cry). The Ukrainian thought that the guy lost someone or himself - dont forget that the ukrainians are well aware that a lot from Canada and Autralia right now fight for Ukraine - SO IN SHORT Ukrainian guy thought - that crying guy - was a soldier in ukraine
@Kornelia_the_cornettoАй бұрын
I agree with all of the above and just wanted to add... the Ukrainian people have be desensitised to war. They live it every single day. It is their new normal. So it's not surprising that he was confused about the crying.
@alexeyamosov664Ай бұрын
People get used to war. Soldiers that spend years on it are an even wilder example, not seeing ever again yet another comrade after yet another shelling becomes a norm. And it’s not even the worst war in terms of time an average soldier spends on the frontline. I mean, Hitler was a veteran, he fought, he got badly injured, lost comrades, but we both know that this absolutely did not make him think like war is something that has to be avoided at all costs, quite the opposite.

The thing is people on the so called other side are not innocent, they hold collective responsibility for everything their country is doing to Ukraine, they do nothing to stop it and majority of them supports this ongoing genocide of Ukrainians, so no, not both sides suffer, we have our best people sacrificing their lives every day so people can live in Ukraine and call themselves Ukrainians, they have inconvenient conditions and go to kill to earn more money or just because of pure hatred towards Ukrainians. You cannot understand the complexity of it without living through it and understanding our history, you cannot read a few articles and hear about it from “news” and claim to know it.

I'm not religious but the best word that comes to mind in response to your comment is "amen".

"Where bureaucracy and politics play absolutely no role in how people come together" it is a problem yes, but its abuse of those things that create the problems today. When you uphold unjust systems, this is just a consequence.

It's the norm for us when we, together with people, raise money for things for the military. It can be cars, Mavics, night vision devices... All Ukrainians do it.

I will never cease to be astonished at how the people of Ukraine can endure such cruelty, and come out of it still able to smile and laugh. They don't let the cruelty break them, and they don't answer the cruelty with more cruelty. They face their challenges with humour, and they treat even their enemies with compassion. Russian soldiers are literally safer being captured by Ukrainians than they are remaining with their own side.

Кілька тижнів тому вони також гостювали у росії, роблячи компліменти як прекрасні росіяни, одягнувши шапки з радянською кокардою.
