From what I found, Mongolian beef is named like this because it was inspired by Mongolian Barbecue, which is neither mongolian or a barbecue. It seem to originate from Taiwan.

Yes Im mongolian (born and livin in Europe), but it was not long ago that I have first heard of this dish xd Maybe some mongolian guy brought some mongolian beef to Taiwan and gave it to a local chef to cook it up for him or smth xd But yeah sadly Mongolia was not originally rich in fruits and veggies so we mostly have meat and dairies in our dishes✌

I have started mine in a vase! They continue to grow and never go bad . I also keep the roots and also leave them in small quantities of water(to avoid drowning) until they are tall enough for the vase!

Ah man there used to be a buffet near my house growing up that we'd go to and I'd always get the Mongolian beef/noodles and they'd cook it on that big circular grill. I'd always get pressured to try other things, but I just always wanted my favorite lol.

I used this as inspiration for dinner tonight (with heura chicken instead of beef, and some bell peppers and zucchini since I had to use them) and it was great! The green onion in big chunks was really nice

And realize your Ouster Souse is empty ( i had a very good Thai Brand here for years never used) since i cook so much of your Recipies i no longer cant live without them anymore. Aaron you’re not alone, I’m addicted to green onions too. I always have them In my fridge, I used them in my egg fried rice, miso. And other dishes. I remember one time, I forgot to buy onions. But not the green/spring onion 🤣🤣🤣 anyway. I will try this as I don’t eat pork. Thanks for the easy recipe. Be safe guys

This is by far my most favorite thing to order when I'm at a Chinese restaurant. I've never been able to replicate it at home. But, I am going to try again NOW! I imagine you would do the same prep for Mongolian chicken and tofu, right?

I definitely need to try this. I got Mongolian beef from a Chinese food place in Georgia, that was my first time having it, and like everything in 2020, it was horrible. It was rubber. Tasteless rubber.
