From what I found, Mongolian beef is named like this because it was inspired by Mongolian Barbecue, which is neither mongolian or a barbecue. It seem to originate from Taiwan.

Yes Im mongolian (born and livin in Europe), but it was not long ago that I have first heard of this dish xd Maybe some mongolian guy brought some mongolian beef to Taiwan and gave it to a local chef to cook it up for him or smth xd But yeah sadly Mongolia was not originally rich in fruits and veggies so we mostly have meat and dairies in our dishes✌

I have started mine in a vase! They continue to grow and never go bad . I also keep the roots and also leave them in small quantities of water(to avoid drowning) until they are tall enough for the vase!

Aaron you’re not alone, I’m addicted to green onions too. I always have them In my fridge, I used them in my egg fried rice, miso. And other dishes. I remember one time, I forgot to buy onions. I definitely need to try this. I got Mongolian beef from a Chinese food place in Georgia, that was my first time having it, and like everything in 2020, it was horrible. It was rubber. Tasteless rubber.
