Just returned from Japan a day ago, 😔, already miss the time and people I have met through my travels..... I especially missed the food, wow, everything we tried was so good. Toured Tokyo, went to two ryokans - Sumiya in Kyoto, and Biwako Suetei in Otsu, town on lake Biwa. Then went to Osaka and then back to Tokyo for shopping and eating again. Osaka is awesome, locals there were very engaging and wanted to talk. Osaka locals have a laid-back attitude about them, just a friendly feel. Each city was distinct for their cuisine, people, and things to do. It was a memorable first trip to Japan. All the locals were hospitable, respectful, and most helpful..... Already planning my next trip for Japanese. To Japan with love😃❤

Here's a suggested 7 day trip to Japan. Covers Tokyo, Kyoto Day one: Land in Tokyo. check in to your hotel. Get something to eat in your local area. Shibuya crossing in the evening. Day two: Ueno park, museums. Akihabara for lunch and a look around. Evening, go to the aquarium in Ikebukero. Day Three: Meiji shrine, Takeshita street. Sensoji in Asakusa. Tokyo Tower in the evening. Day Four: Samurai museum in Kabukicho, then shinkansen to Kyoto. Check in to hotel, eat. Walk around Gion in the evening. Day Five: Fushimi Inari Shrine. Kyoto Tower at lunch. Kyoto castle afternoon. Day six: Nishiki market. Kiyomizudera temple. Relax in the evening at a nice restaurant. (maybe take a train to Osaka and eat in the Dotonburi area, then train back to your hotel) Day seven: Kyoto rail museum in you have time/inclination. Take train to Kansai airport, fly home.

Another fun video! For the days outside of Tokyo, I would also recommend Mt Hakone/Lake Ashi for the onsens and views. If you like shopping in Akihabra, also consider going shopping at Nakano Broadway in Tokyo. Another place you should include are the food stores in the mall basements like the Shibuya Food Show.

Day One: Tokyo Station and check out the Starbucks next to Imperial Palace, Get lunch in the area and Walk down to Ginza and shop or window shop. Night time go back to Tokyo Station on the Yamanote Line over to Shibuya for bar hopping or to get dinner. Day Two: Head to Akihabara to check out The Cat cafe next to the station or Yodabashi Camera, Walk 20 mins to Ueno for Amenoyoko Street. Rest at the Hotel, Night time head down to Shinjuku for dinner. Day Three: Day trip to Yokohama to check out the Red Brick Warehouse and World Porters. You can also kill time at the Cup Noodles factory or the China Town. Night time explore more of Yokohama and go to CosmoWorld and relax by the pier and do some night shopping at the Aeon Mall. Day Four: Head down to Shin Okuba the Korea town for some fried chicken and Kpop stuff, then take the Yanote line down to Ikebukuro. Head to Sunshine City Mall for the Pokemon Sweets cafe and shopping. Rest then head to the city your hotel is in to see how the night life is and eat dinner. Day Five: Head to Shinkuku Bus Terminal early in the morning to take the highway bus to MT Fuji, get some Hoto Noodles, then check out the Pagoda and Lake Kawaguchi Area. Day Six: Head to Sensoji Temple for some street food and Souvenirs. Then head back down to Minato City for Tokyo Tower or Team Labs Borderless Day 7: Go down to Shibuya or Ebisu last minute shopping. You can also go to Tokyo DisneySea or switch it with day Six. I would also recommend going more east towards Chiba to check out Funabashi for Lalaport Mall and Chiba Port Tower. I was in Tokyo a few weeks ago and this was pretty much what I did minus Shin Okuba which I regret but, I did get to see alot of attractions regardless as a solo traveler.

Always great to hear the old but gold recommendations but also find some new ones. It's also nice to see how much fun those foreigners have. 😊

Traveling from the UK 7 Days in Japan just isn't enough time since its 14 hours flying and that's when flying direct, so when my wife and I are going to Japan for out 3rd time next year we are going for 3 weeks.

Cathy, could you please do a video on wheelchair accessible tourist locations? I want to know where i CAN go. Temples, otaku areas, fun shopping theme parks, onsens (including private onsen because my hubby is heavily tattoed) and animal attractions. Is Don Quijote accessible? Things like that. ❤

Search for Japan-accessible website. There’s also another website that has info on hotels with accessible rooms; search Accessible Japan.
