could you do a video on installing that bare bone, debloat, 0 telemetry windows version? I forget what it's called but I heard there is a new one out for win 11 if I understood correctly. The old one you had to use linux to basically remove parts of windows, but they said it's not needed anymore.

I heard nothing but bad about 11. I had to have my desktop repaired & while the repair man had it, he updated to 11. It was hell! I took it back & told him to get 11 out & go back to 10. That's when I found out I didn't have enough RAM. I only had 4. He put what he had in rams & brought it up to 12. He said 16 is better but that's all he had. Now everything works great. No problems! Windows 10 won't be around much longer so you will have no choice but to go to 11. Check your rams! Hope this helps some people.

Had it since Jan 2022. It's great and still getting better.

a w11 patch that may attract more punters would be to add a 'make it look like w10' option to settings.

At its core, Win 11 seems very robust and stable. The UI however sucks. If it weren't for OpenShell and ExplorerPatcher, I couldn't use it.

I hate the right click context menu, which (I think) doesn't have copy, paste, cut, properties. Only icons.

If they don't solve this clusterfrak (inconsistencies, lack of costumization, "telemetry" spyware, etc), or launch a Windows 12 fixing Win11 annoyances, I'll be using Debian Linux as my main desktop driver by 2025. I prefer to not have any or only Linux games on my PC nor Adobe products than to being subject to this again. I had to do the same thing with Vista, Windows 8, etc: wait for the next OS fixing the bad stuff. Enough. For me this one was the last straw.

If the steps in the video didn't help, then probably not.

I had previously updated to windows 11 about 1 year ago. But it was so buggy, i jumped right back to 10. This weekend, I gave it a go again. Everything seemed ok. But that taskbar is just a mess. Just can't get a decent way to resize the buttons without going into "Hackerman" mode. When it resumed from sleep mode, All the taskbar buttons had disappeared. Just had to restart the PC instead. So what's the point of sleep mode. I'm surprised that it just still needs user interface work after all this time.

Never had any issues like that, and would imagine if this was the norm, Leo and all the other Windows KZbin channels would be shouting from the rooftops about it. Without doubt, the most stable and reliable Windows so far.

From my experience, if you try to temper with the aesthetics by any way, it can break gui. This is the philosophies of macos which prove to be reliable as it is standardize. However the way they project this idea to software developer is little to none.

No thanks for me. Still no never combine taskbar and the Interface is bloated

MS should've just built upon Win 7. 10 ended up being ok, but what a rough transition. So much business software wasn't ready when 10 rolled out. Always chasing our tails. Smh.

Hi Leo, when I saw you had a video on this subject I immediately ran it. My question is - will Microsoft always allow a free upgrade to Windows 11, as they currently do, or may they make it so we will have to pay if we don’t take advantage of the free upgrade? Thank you for your wonderful, clear and concise videos.
@askleonotenboom9 ай бұрын
There are no guarantees, of course, but based on their behavior past and present I expect it to continue to be free.

Bought a new Dell to replace an aging one using 8.1. I guess I got used to 8.1, honestly, I hate Win11.

To me Windows 11 User Interface is not an Upgrade. It's Windows 10 messed up!

Oh, I'll use 10 until I absolutely have to switch. The hubs has 11 and all I hear over at his desk is grumbling. Thing is...I can't stand the UI. It's awful. It looks flat and, frankly, unfinished. There's no depth to it....looks like someone just typed it up on a word processor and said "good enough for who it's for". On my old XP machine I could customize everything. For me, Windows 10 is a downgrade.

Yea, thanks but no thanks. I didn't want Windows 10 seven years ago, neither do I want W11. Why did I watch this video, then? Because my son wants to use Windows and I want to be able to give some advice to him that is based on knowledge and not just my prejudice (I have a lot of it!).
