As a Venture X cardholder, the Escape lounges are a great addition. Particular since one is at my home airport. There have been complaints about overcrowding so I will see if that is an issue on my next trip. Between that and the Club SFO opening, it has been a good week for priority pass in the US. 🥃

🥃 Sacramento Escape lounges can already get crowded as they are, this change will make it more so. However, this also means we can bring in our whole family because more of us has Priority Pass. So I guess this is just another one of those we’ll see how our experience is when we try to use it.

I have flown through an airport with an escape lounge since this change. Perhaps of note: the bar now has “tiers” depending on how you got in regarding which drinks are complimentary. Platinum and Centurion card holders get an expanded bar menu that includes some more premium options (this is actually an upgrade from before PP members were let in) and “all other” visitors get the old standard bar menu. Obviously not worth getting a Platinum for if it didn’t already make sense for you, but maybe a point in the Platinum’s favor if you get near-equal value from it or Venture X or CSR.

🥃Long over due. Great to see #1 airline putting out a incredible area in terminals. Eating,drinking and trying to escape the stress of panicked passengers in the terminals. HOWEVER, I must say in a constructive criticism and positive way that your videos are extremely hard to listen to. Your natural tone of voice is difficult to hear on youtube. 🥃 now here's the dark side of airport lounge access: these days I rarely fly first class where I am not sitting next to a drunk. I mean, 7:30 in the morning people are going to these lounges and imbibing at the open bar. Very annoying, very inconsiderate. On my last business class trip I was seated next to a red-faced guy who was mumbling to himself and shadow boxing. I got up to alert the stewardess to keep an eye on this one, and when I got back to my seat I realized this guy had spilled his drink in my seat. A full flight, there were no other seats on the plane. I was flying on business, and only brought the one pair of trousers. This is what airport lounge access means to me. They are usually crowded, and unless you're into drinking, not really worth it. I'd rather just find an empty gate somewhere where I can be quiet and alone. And dry. I had downgraded my Amex Platinum during the pandemic. I just upgraded it back to Platinum again, and already regret it. And utter waste.

Until a brand decides to break with the norm of using 3rd party contractors like HMS and Aramark then there will be no fine dinning in any lounges. Even if the menu is by a local chef, it’s still a bunch of hacks back there.

🥃 I had the Amex Delta Platinum at one time I downgraded to the blue just to keep my miles. PDX is not a Delta hub so we would never get a D1 lounge. Amex escape lounge is coming soon.

🥃 As a frequent PHX traveler out of T4, not surprised by the decision to not include it as part of PP. They share the same kitchen, so the food is literally the same on Centurion/Escape. The main difference is the drink selection, where Centurion is far superior. If you're bringing guests, Escape is a better choice as can bring in two guests for free. I will often choose Escape if flying really early as the full bar doesn't open until 11am. If I want single malt scotch or mezcal cocktails, then Centurion for sure. PS, great choice on Lagavulin, Ron Swanson would be proud 😎

🥃 Delta One lounge looks amazing. Will be interesting to see what LA, Boston, & Seattle ones are like. Drinking, eating, relaxing, & working in that order. Bummed re: Escape Lounges as a Delta/AmEx guy, though Columbus' is in a different terminal than the Delta gates, and they aren't connected airside, so I've never used. Maybe once new terminal built in 5-10 years w/everything connected I'll have something to say.

You love that whiskey!! 🥃- I have never used the restaurant option of PP. I have my PP through Ritz card. I am a NYer so the Sapphire lounges at JFK and LGA have been great. However, I am flying more in premium cabins so I have tried out other lounges in T4 as well. Flying AF in Biz to and from Italy in April so looking forward to checking out this Delta one Lounge. I guess I have access with these flights! and it'll be nice to stop in after getting off instead of standing around at the luggage carouse at JFKl!!

🥃I've used the Escape lounges at West Palm Beach (PBI) and Greenville-Spartenburg (GSP). They are both on the small side, particularly GSP, and I think opening them up to Priority Pass may create an overcrowding problem that doesn't exist now. 🥃Delta One sounds great! When I visit a lounge I’m looking for food, snacks, coffee and WiFi/ power to get work done. I’ve gone to the Escape Lounge at GSP and I agree it was pretty nice. Limited number of customers so you felt like you were part of an exclusive club. They seem to try and be creative with their food offerings and add a regional element. I thought the food was actually tasted like a real cook made it versus a lot of the relatively bland tasting food frequently found in lounges. I wondered why at the beginning of the vlog you referenced this might not be good news from Amex Plat card holders and I agree it will be disappointing if the Escape lounges become overcrowded because of the priority pass addition.

🥃 I'm pretty excited about the Delta One Lounge, I walked past it on opening day and it looked amazing. They are supposed to be adding a dedicated security line for the check-in area as well but it isn't completed yet. I wish more lounges had a to-go area like some of the some Capitol One lounges. That might help with the extra people that are gaining access to lounges.

Thanks for the update. I was confused by the original article regarding PHX. I virtually stopped connecting through PHX for multiple reasons, including no PHX lounge availability. I once purchased an Escape Lounge access with an appointed time. When I arrived, they said it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Since I only had enough layover time for dinner, I didn't get to use the lounge (this was at T4).
