From what I remember, the original Ritz metal card was about 27 grams, the heaviest metal card on the market at the time. I read somewhere that some customers had problems inserting the card into a chip reader due to the thickness of the metal. By comparison the original metal Amex card was around 21 grams if memory serves, and when they added the contactless plastic back the card lost some weight and now it's around 18 grams.

Ritz should give Platinum status to compete vs Amex and the Aspire card. A $900 AF for 2 85k certs isn’t worth it. Better to get 2 Ritz card. This way you have a total of $600 travel credit.

Very informative video. My opinion the MGM brand hasn’t been as good as it was since the data breach. Ritz Carlton has a very good hotel in Orlando. If you’re ever in the Orlando area you should consider staying there. Keep up the good work. 👍🏿✌️

Of note, I recently replaced my CSR and noticed that the card was also significantly thicker than my old CSR. I added a few more AU to my Ritz Carlton card and noticed that the new metal cards are also the same thickness. So it could also be a move by chase to simply increase the "premiumness" of their products only rather than a full benefits update

I called in to product change on Saturday 1/20, and I just received my Ritz Carlton cards (for myself and 3 AUs). I'm not 100% sure if it's the full metal one. It weighs 16-17 grams and has Tap to Pay functionality, so not exactly the 1 oz behemoth from the past.

Is it possible to move around limits from the CSR to the Ritz Card? I know Visa Infinite ideally does require at least 10k limits but some data points about the US Bank Altitude Reserve show that people get approved with just 5k.

The CC I received is the exact same card I previously had, even has the same CVV and exp date (contrary to the email saying it would be new). The weight is roughly the same as the CSR card (hybrid metal and plastic) I was excitingly expecting the OLD solid metal titanium card. Did Chase screw up with my order or are all the *new* cards like this?

The one you dropped isn't the new one, that's the old old one, I just got the new one today and it's pretty sh!tty to be honest, there's still a plastic/adhesive layer for the back to hold the useless antenna. You want this card to flex and to hand over, not to tap like a commoner. I mean if you want to tap it there's something called apple pay right? The replaced one was maybe 50% metal, this one is 66% if you want to quantify it in percentages. They really need to revamp it and remove the tap feature and make it 100% steel or something.

Going to Vegas later this year for the first time since I even started using credit cards, and I was surprised by how noncompetitive the FHR/Hotel Collection options were, given that I had always heard that Vegas is basically the #1 US city to get the most value from this Amex Platinum perk. Boo :(

The value is in the FHR benefits, not the sticker price. If you don't properly leverage the benefits, you'll usually be paying more for no reason. If you subtract the FHR benefits from the sticker price, you'll sometimes be getting an _amazing_ deal. For a Vegas weekend, I often pair FHR with a free night cert (usually Hilton, usually for a Sat, with FHR on Sun for 4pm late checkout).

I think the Boundless card has a 24 month clock on SUBs. So you'd need to wait at least 24 months after getting the bonus from your Boundless and be under 5/24 to receive another bonus for it.

I grabbed the Biz Gold 100k with old AF. Likely cancelling because Biz retention offers generally poor 🦁 Biz Platinum I’d like to see $100 off any Adobe annual sub over $200, even if they cut the Indeed credit I know it’ll never happen. Ritz I assume nothing changes, no relaunch. If they relaunch it I’d take Platinum status for an extra $100, but they must match Brilliant’s $650 so keep Gold and do 2x 85k certs. Sebby, do you still have a $395 Ritz card?
