Hi Jem! I do hope you continue making videos, your channel is the only one that seems to get into the nitty gritty of pigeon care and behavior! I plan to adopt one in the fall and the research I have been doing with your guidance has been invaluable! thank you so much for all of your work!

I once discussed this with my grandpa who raises racing pigeons. Especially the feral pigeons vs racing pigeons. I was saying they are basically the same and he kept denying it saying they are two completely different pigeons. Thanks for this video ❤️

Great video, as always! I'm a huge fan of your pet beginner guide especially If i can as a question, are there breeds that aren't really good for indoors pets? I have seen big variety of breeds on the internet kept as pets, such as modena or fantail, so i really became curious about that And again, great and very helpful content!
@thecrazypigeonlady87312 жыл бұрын
Any domestic pigeon has the potential to be a great pet, especially if you have it from young. Some breeds that are known for good temperament are owl breeds, frills, fantails, kings and lahores :-)

Hi, I rescued a male pigeon with a broken wing. I interact with it and everything, give it the best seeds, learned lots about pigeons, etc. But now it won't stop cooing for hours on end. I love animals but tere's no living with constant cooing. There are no other birds around, I spend time with it and found online that you have to give males an old slipper for them to court it. Nothing makes him coo less. Can you help me?

Could you give tips on keeping pigeons indoors? I have three house pigeons that fly freely around my home and I would feel cruel making them spend most of their time in a cage, but they make such a mess and I'm having trouble keeping up

Hello. I’m just new here but this channel has a great playlist on Pigeon’s For Beginners. Our kind hostess explains indoor cages and cleaning etc. I hope this helps. 🐦❤️

i have 6 inside at the moment, so i feel your pain. i try to keep newspaper under the places they most commonly perch to sleep and try to pick up anything i see when i see it - so rolls of toilet paper in most rooms of the house. i know they can be toilet trained... but mine have all proven better at training me than me training them.

@thecrazypigeonlady87312 жыл бұрын
Same species Columba Livia, but yes, very different to racing and feral birds :-) they sit in the gap between racing and showing pigeons. I may do a little vid about these birds in the future :-)
@leonciocapola10362 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering who started to breed the Tipplers or the rollers it's a long history and the Europeans were good at keeping records and pedigree of their birds. The high flying Pakistanis and Budapest were like English tipplers but have distinct differences. They stay up flying nonstop for at least four hours and that's how they compete. In Indonesia, their pigeon is almost like the feral bird but they were so into their mate (hen) that they will follow them wherever they go with the owner on the road . It really fascinates me. Thanks.

Hello 👋 I’m a recent subscriber and a big fan of your channel. You’re very informative and I like your presentations. I have a request as opposed to a question… would you mind an indoor cage tour? I’m looking to acquire a pet pigeon and I’m doing my research but there are SO MANY cages and types to choose from. I’d appreciate a glimpse at an expert’s set up. I hope that’s not too intrusive, understandably it is your home!

I have a question please here in Egypt some fanciers using creatine for racing pigeons and they think that will make the pigeons more faster, is that's true?
@thecrazypigeonlady87312 жыл бұрын
Creatine is a health supplement that increases muscle mass and is therefore used to improve athletic performance. Humans can take it too! Im not an expert in this area but articles suggest it can be effective in humans but I dont know if there have been proper scientific studies done on its efficacy in pigeons. If anyone in the comments has any links to scientific papers on this Id love to see some!

If we make a wild bird with the raicing one what we gonna have ?

It depends on whose DNA it gets the most.. but it will be good for strong immunity and that hybrid will do more breeding because of its wild habit

How about Blondenette pigeons. I like to keep them, but some one tell me they can’t feed their kids.
@thecrazypigeonlady87312 жыл бұрын
Blondinettes are a specific colour pattern of the breed known as the Oriental Frill. They are cute birds and are said to have nice temperaments as pets but being a short faced breed you are correct, they have difficulty raising their own young and breeders use surrogate parents of other breeds to raise these babies
