I cannot wait for this to come in stock. Everything he says is correct. I have hundreds of molds and cast for every form of firearm. In my 38 years casting, these are the easiest to cast slugs or even projectile that uses a pin. I had shootable rounds within the 4th casting. The segmented pins all come out super easy. I heated up my mold for 10 minutes on the top of my Lee Big Dipper, and 4 castings later I had near perfect rounds. All came out with little effort using the ball removal cavity of the mold. By round 20, they were perfect. They had zero marks on them. They looked like factory cast silver jewelry. The machining and thought that went into these moulds is shocking. More so, in an hour I was firing those Twister rounds into wet magazines and examining bullets with 2, 3, and 4 segments, and what they did to the books. These molds get you up shooting that fast. I just cut a shotcups sides off and used the lower portion of the shotcup as a gas seal. No screw used to attach it either. In my smoothbore it hit dead center of the target and the slug fragmented each time in horrific ways. The best slug moulds in the world. Bar none! Now to buy them all as they eventually come into stock. I want everything for 12 and 20 ga from this company.

Thanks for your work ! How do these fare out of a smoothbore accuracy-wise (out to 50 or 100 yds) ? My guess would be the wide bands are designed to take the grooves of a rifled barrel, correct ? What ASM model would you advise for a smoothbore shooting paper target at 50 to 100 yards ? I've had my eyes on a SH-SH 3-segment thin band mold or a Twister 5-segment mold as I don't want to depend on Italian type clip-on wads that are hard to come by... Thanks

Sure thing; first one is just water with some Palmolive dish detergent to de-grease it. The second is sprue plate oil that came with some of my moulds from NOE. I couldn't tell you the exact composition but I'd say it's a fairly thick machine oil.

Thanks for your quick informative video. I'm interested in less than 2&3/4" shells so your showing that was great! Reduced recoil fragmenting slugs out of a 1&3/4" shell is perfect for home defense!

@@TATVCanada Would It be possible to modify a 7/8ths oz. Lee key drive mold so the key drive is eliminated and fracture lines are put in it? Would a custom CNC shop be able to produce that? I dont have any modeling software or 3D printer.

TATV, are you planning on carrying these in your online store? Also, I love the matte finish on your slugs. Do you just dry tumble in walnut medium? You may have answered this previously but I only started watching recently when I ran across your stuff on the RL Network. I can't wait to see how these shoot compared to the Svarog paradox. I would hope they would just work with the driving bands as is. Needing to use a modified wad screwed through the cavity is a bit tedious. Though, with that said, Svarog on their FB page mentions screwing those to cork filler wads, adjusting the column as needed to get the right drag on them for your gun.

Actually just saw your reply on another commentor's post about starting to possibly ship these world wide in June/July. That is awesome.
@TATVCanada
@TATVCanada 5 жыл бұрын
Yes I have an agreement in place with the manufacturer to import and retail them here. I will be shipping worldwide, but predominantly to North America I imagine. Yeah I like the way they look too; its an extra step, but it's pretty simple. I just tumble them in either corn cob or walnut media for about an hour or so. Smooths out any sprue or mould lines.

Now that you mention it that *does* sound familiar; but in answer to your question, no I don't use anything special with it. I think the way they manufacturer has finished the surface of the pins, combined with the shape, makes it simple enough to extract the slug that nothing else is really required.

@TATV Canada, with the ASM Grizzly Shock Paradox molds, I do not see a hole all the way thru the molded slug, like there is in the Svarog Zveroboy. However, do you think with a slug from the ASM mold that I could drill a small hole thru the ASM slug in order to fasten a wad to the slug with a small wood or machine screw? I kind of like the idea of the wad staying with the slug over a longer distance for more stability...
