Dang, I saved this from last year and put it in my calendar it was late September due date! (I don't know if that changed?) I may check tomorrow to see if applications are still being accepted, I know getting a professor/advisor letter of recc is going to be a serious stretch. (Here in the midwest we haven't even started fall semester yet!)

Hi Dr Hanson. You are the man! I am sorry to post here but could you answer my question from the Mechanics of Materials: Lesson 8 - Shear Strain Explained, Sign Convention video. My question was regarding the sign convention. "By this logic though, lets say the deformation at point C (disregard it being 1 m away, so c' is actually just at point c) was heading towards quadrant 2. The new angle would be less then 90 degrees, making it positive. But by the sign convention, it would be negative?! How does this work??" Philippians 4:13
