@@cliffhanger906 Back when the home computer was new, they were prohibitively expensive. For example, back when the Apple II first launched, a basic model priced in somewhere around $1,300, which adjusted for inflation is just over $6,000. The higher end model with 48KB of RAM was $2,638 which is equivalent to $12,739 today. For comparison, the computer I built going on a year ago with 32GB of RAM, a processor that clocks around 3.2 GHz, which absolutely blows the doors off the Apple II's 1 MHz processor, was a frog's hair over $2,000 in today bucks, which adjusting for inflation in reverse would have been about $400 in 1977. You'd have to be denser than osmium to think the home computer was anywhere near accessible back then. Sure, you had the Atari and other predecessors to the modern gaming console, but even they were about as expensive as an entry level gaming PC at the original MSRP of $189.95, about $920 after inflation. Nowadays you get far more bang for your buck as far as storage capacity, memory, overall stability, reliability and processing power go. As for the accessibility, I'm talking about people with disabilities as well as just normal people who aren't huge nerds. I could see games with complex vector graphics like the original Elite and other games in the late 70s and throughout the 80s being nigh impossible to play for people with certain visual impairments, poor depth perception, certain types of color blindness, those kinds of things, meanwhile modern games usually offer colorblindness settings among other disability accommodating features, and just generally look more appealing and are easier to understand to the average person, as well.

Asmon, when it comes to Minecraft, you have 2 ways to play it: mods, or vanilla. You need to have a creative flair to build along with learning the mods you like, and then the game becomes what you want, how you want it. For me, it is a single-player game, and with todays' bullshit climate for games with toxic mechanics, playing by myself is ideal. Minecraft does have 'an endgame' but the game itself, is endless.

I think it might be pretty interesting for him to try out Sevtech Ages modpack or something similar. It would be quite familiar ground for him, since the modpack focused heavily on quests and progression + giving detailed instructions on each and every step. There's quite a lot of grinding and crafting as well as challenging combat. It would be absolutely epic to see him literally progress from stone age to space age (and this is not a spoiler, it's literally this, if not most of the modpack selling points)

The reason FPS don't really make the list is because: FPS sell like shit in Asia. For some reason, we don't know why, East-Asians are hyper-sensitive to motion sickness, which makes FPS by default much less desired. Also, how do you want CoD to make the list when there is a new CoD coming out every year? It needs to sell 50mil copies IN A YEAR... that's impossible... think about it this way... The Witcher 3 isn't on the list... Monster Hunter World (one of the best video games of all time that sells crazy hard in Asia) isn't on the list... and you want CS:GO and mf-ing CoD cancer games to be on the list of the highest selling? Same with Sports games... if you counted the franchise and not each separate title individually, FIFA would kick Super Mario's butt even as a franchise cause we're talking about 10-20 mil sells per year for over over 30 years... we're talking about way over 300million copies... Tetris and Minecraft had 180mil at the top of the list... FIFA easily doubles that as a franchise (even as the worst sports game in the world that it is nowadays... and that's coming from a guy that was a 0.1% top tier player of FIFA back when it took skill until 2015)... this game in it's shit, completely unplayable form sells almost 20mil hard copies a year... think about how mindblowing the number is...

Super Mario Bros. 1, Duck Hunt, World Track Record (because all three of these games were on one cart for me) and Zelda 1 were my childhood. They were the first games I played. After a while, it was them plus Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Contra, Life Force, Castlevania 2, Duck Tales, The Simpsons: Bart vs the Mutants, Star Soldier, Gradius, Platoon, and Othello. For not being born in a rich family, I had a decent (by the standards of the time) collection of NES games by the time the SNES launched.

The Five things to takeaway from this video: 1) Tetris from 1984, till when it topped the charts from 1993 until 2020. 2)For everything you said about Pokemon having cards, games, merch etc... Tetris had NONE of that. 3) The longest running top FPS to make this list is Duck Hunt( Only PUBG made the list otherwise). 4) In 5 years Minecraft erased all of gaming history. 5) The top two longest leading games were both graphically basic as shit.

Asmond that is a beautiful memory that you shared about you and your mother watching the credits together after you beat Bowser. I say that because I also have a son that is 6 who not to long ago beat old school Sonic 3 and was so stoked about it. He is obsessed with everything Sonic and he always plays on the TV in my home office and when he beat it he was jumping up and down and I threw all my papers on my desk up in the air and was jumping up and down with him. I will remember that when I am a old man.

You have to remember MMORPG's are not as popular as other games out there. These games you could go up to anyone and they're likely to know what you're talking about but if you said many main titles of MMORPG they wouldn't know what you're talking about. From release to the current iteration (expansion) WoW has only sold 14,000,000 copies to date (including all expansions). It kind of surprises me but, the MMORPG genre truly isn't the king of gaming, I think FPS or originals are (like tetris, pac-man, Mario, etc).

10:54 The point of the game is that it DOESN'T teach you how to play it. MineCraft cannot be enjoyed by anyone who cannot think for themselves. The game does nothing to teach you about how to play it, and does next to nothing to tell you what you're able to accomplish. It doesn't tell you where to go, it doesn't have tutorials, and it doesn't give you "quest objectives." It is like the spectral opposite of a Call of Duty Single Player Campaign, which holds your hand, gives you orders, and tells you exactly what to do during every second of every minute of the four pathetic hours that it takes to finish it. This is what people mean when they give the simplified explanation of "yOu nEeD to mAkE YoUr owN fUN." Minecraft was made for a generation of kids who don't like boomers telling them what to do. So they play a game that literally goes out of its way to get out of YOUR way and tell you as little as possible.

the ARAM 17:32 cannot happen (unless I am missing something) because the All Random means that each champion can be on the map only once. It cannot happen the other team has the same champ. The only tweak would be that you create a blind pick and the players pick the exact same team actually and the random element comes in the fact that noone tries to do this on purpose.
