Jeff left wow during cataclysm which is coincidentally the same expansion where everything went to shit. I think Jeff started to realize that wow was a sinking ship and he didn't want to go down with it.

the real difference between vanilla and bfa: vanilla was made to provide fun to players AND make money. bfa was made to make money AND use phycological traps&tricks to make player spends more and more time and prolongs his subscription. they just killed the game, that used to be legendary decade ago. and i feel bad for that
