Rysix19 - Sadly, wow is beyond saving or, it would take as many years to reverse the game to what is was, as it take to become what it is nowdays. If there's any hope, that's with vanilla servers to show the way.

gborgesbardi No in one year of hard work it can be done. But focus and intelligent worlk. In each extention so many things are done wrong. Things are done , next extention removed, put again in next one... because it goes random without clear goal. With good dev I'm sure in 1 or 2 year you can make a WoW version much much better. But dev have to know what they have to do... now it look they have no clue what they are doing and for what ....

Correlation does not mean causation. In fact, it could be argued that the "downfall" of WoW was gradual and imo it is actually true so while I agree with you that people like Jeff leaving did not help at all, it was a gradual process that was more due to a change in Blizzard's philosophy rather than some specific developpers leaving

No it's not, pvp gear was removed, set bonuses removed, gear is everywhere and it no longer means anything, you have no sense of achievement when you get it.

HdtvTh not sure what you mean. Been playing since wotlk. I've always felt the power creep every expansion and dedication to get better gear through mythics, raids, world quests. I don't PvP much but pve seems better than ever.

Its funny how Asmongold doesnt have a clue how to increase the volume of his stereo mix in OBS. Literally click the properties and boost it past 100. It wont affect his headphones but it'll increase the volume for the stream. His mic is like 200% higher than the other sounds.

I remember at one point in vanilla our server did something called GKP runs where random people bid on loot and whatever gold was pooled together was split up among everyone at the end. So even if you didn’t get loot you made gold. That was a concept made up by the community and not forced in by the game devs. Miss that.

I fail to see how that is true, if anything it seems to be exactly how they design mythic raids today (lowered player number to 20, made fights challenging, even made small raid ToV).

i would not even say previous raid where hard.... what was hard is the gearing process of so many people to even attempt the raid.

+CL Also the attunements. The extremely lengthy, time-gated attunement for Naxxramas was one of the main reasons why few people got to see it. The difficulty of Naxx is laughable compared to modern raids when you factor out the attunements, gear checks and insane raid comp requirements (biggest example being the Four Horsemen: it required no less than 8 tanks to beat). +Simon I fail to see how they've taken on the opposite approach in modern times. Sure, they don't have "unbeaten" content, but the top raiding guilds always tore through raids like they were nothing once they got past the attunement/gear check/bugged boss roadblocks. They still always give new players something to aspire to (whoa, that guy's max level and wearing a Mythic raiding set and has a cool artifact appearance!), always ramp up the difficulty of a raid as you go deeper, give every boss their own mechanics to spice up the fight and keep players from just mindlessly spamming their abilities, create challenging encounters but not too challenging, and occasionally add smaller raids. I really have to ask, why do Asmongold and his fans always focus on the negatives and try to spin everything about modern WoW in a negative light? If you don't like the game, just stop playing and wait for the classic server to come out. Why play it and complain when you seem to hate it so much?

I'm pretty sure that when Jeff is talking about linear raid progression, he's talking about the fact that you needed to get gear from Molten Core to do Blackwing Lair, you needed gear from Blackwing Lair to do Ahn'Qiraj, and you needed gear from Ahn'Qiraj to do Naxxramas. So if you were stuck on a particular encounter like Vaelastrasz, you had no choice but to keep banging your head against a wall. There was no "menu" of content you could do to get geared. They started taking steps to solve this in Burning Crusade, where you could get "welfare epics" to raid in Black Temple or Sunwell without having to do Serpentshrine or Tempest Keep. By Wrath of the Lich King, this was standard procedure, and it still is today; a player who never touched Nighthold or Tomb of Sargeras can easily get the gear they need to do Antorus. That's not linear.

I quit raiding in 2018 cause the overall attitude of people is horrendous and respectless. They have no sense of improvement or progress - only "Gimme now, for free without having to learn anything or improve, cause im a parent".... Its shit.

Karazhan the most fun raid in the game by far. Every boss different from the last and challenging in different ways. And the sound effects of the Theatre bosses was SO GOOD! It just felt so rewarding coming from heroics and finally getting some epics to start up your character for real endgame

Blizzard used to be the most fun and badass game company out there. They would hire people if they thought they made great points or put something out there about there games. Jeff Keplan was hired because he shitted on Everquest on forums. The cinematic director was hired based on a warcraft machinima he made. And game balanced people where hired based on stuff they did ingame and posted videos about it online. It was a company run by nerds and for nerds.

Blizzard have made it so on the new forums you can't see a players armory. So when you have a bunch of players saying how much fun they're having playing the game, you are now unable to click on their character to see just how little they're really playing it.

Never been a huge raid fanatic, sure i raided, but kinda stopped after lichking, and lich king was where i truly went all the way, otherwise just half arsed it, and i like that in me, and i had zero problem with ppl seeing or experiencing content i didnt really deserve to be, since i didnt work my ass to get there, and thats ok. I supported in my own way, and i had a great time, socialy, pvp, or just farming mobs, or leveling my 7th char, id say that raid is not for everyone, but either is anything wrong with having it, BUT you have to give the same amount of attention to 5 man dungeons... they matter as well.. specially in classic / tbc Also, smaller raids ? well big ones work just fine, less attention on you as well, but small works just fine as well, like 5 mans, which i love..
