I've only been watching WoW content creators for the last two weeks cause I am so pumped for classic (literally haven't been this stoked since vanilla WoW's release), but Mad Season has some weird monotone charm that I love. Also, his in-game videos have this cinematic aspect to them.

Before the internet came out, downloading games was a ton of fun. My friend and I would hit a bulletin board or such with an upgraded Hayes modem and download each one we could find at a speed rate of about an hour to pull something as simple as Space Invaders and Asteroids. I was saving up to by a remote disc drive as I had an Atari 800XL which had no peripherals for storage. With the cost of $300-$400 for a drive then while I only was working in fast food, I grabbed a Cassette Drive to hold me over. Downloading games from my friend's PC to my cassette drive took on average of 1-3 hours per download. To play them - once copied, took about the same time to upload to play. Back in '87 or so my favorite games were called Droll, Spelunker & Zeppelin. Each on took 2-4 hours to download every day I wanted to play it. Castle Wolfenstein was brand new and I'd have to load it before I went to bed on a Friday night just so I could play it by Saturday morning. BUT - cassette drives were highly volatile. 50% of the time the game would simply stop loading - even if it's almost complete - sort of like a site timing out. It just died and you had to start the reboot all over again and wait the next 2-4 hours to load and hope it doesn't drop again. People who complain about queue rates have nothing on us simply trying to play offline in the 80s. Things have come so far, it's not funny.

Edwin i played a Ret Pally for 10 years straight, WTF are talking about? In 2014, last time i played WoW i would destroy 8 out of 10 people in pvp and lost duels only here and there. I SOLOED the 40 man Lich King raid with my Ret Pally and every single raid before that. I even could solo the 25 man Catalyzm raid right to the end boss. NOW what do you have to say??? if played properly a Ret Pally was seriously deadly... I proved this many times over the years. In 2014 my pally had the #1 top tier pvp set (took afew months of everyday BGs to acquire) and was heroic raid PvE geared (Best gear in the game at the time) 900k hp and average 1.5 mil dps.. I can say this i have always been a very honest person and dont talk shit, Ret paladins have lots of skills, abilities and spells. You must be new to WoW or you would know this.

I remember in my guild it was a monthly event for the officers to have like a conference on who gets promoted or demoted adn whenever someone got a promotion it was a huge deal. It meant more respect, more monthly DKP (not by much, it wasn't a huge boost). I remember when i became an officer (after 2 years in the same guild) and went on these conferences it was such an amazing thing, it was basicly like organising a company.

Will be fun to test out old exploits and bugs tho, some of my favorites was able to fear people througt instance entrances to get in a empty version. ZG was fixed later to not contain ore and herb nodes but it was possible for a long time to gather those without any thrash mobs being there. Another fun one there was was the hardpacked snowball from AV, if you threw them at people right as they left for a flightpoint at the flight master they would arrive instantly at the destination. The jumping onto straight walls was great, i actually wrote a addon during vanilla to tell me how much degrees i was turned to get on the right number to do it in rapid succession without fail. My favorite was a bug that if you killed someone with your own spell while having them mind controlled their ghost would turn into a hunter pet where you could put the player on follow/halt, actually have a video on my channel that i recorded in Vanilla WoW.

Rain of fire brings back memories , i used to do it and no one knew, :) The biggest problem we had was waiting outside onyxia's lair week after week waiting for 40 people to come on and then having to cancel and the list of excuses of how they had to be elsewhere, once we managed to get her down everyone was suddenly interested and wanted to come along leaving all the loyal people fighting for a raid spot

From playing on a private server, I think the only reason raiding in classic enabled a good feeling of increasing power level was because raiding higher end content required the other raids' buffs, like head of Hakkar and Nefarian to raid AQ40. Next to it was the farming of MC for Sulfur as and stuff like that. It made it so new players got to experience ZG with seasoned raiders and the raiders themselves kept returning to content, but it also caused a conga-line from Grom'Gol to Orgrimmar to Felwood and hearthstone to Silithus to start raiding. Blizzard should really look into having that mechanic of buffing back, and having it be so good that it's required to have. Don't know if that's a good idea tho

I don't think they should ever change the level cap, or overhaul talents/other core systems. Though them eventually releasing new raids, dungeons, zones, arena or other additional features unique to classic wow (like osrs) would be pretty sick.

It is easier to copy tbc. However I completely agree. If they want to hold the true vanilla fan base that knows what they want then this is it. We don’t want burning crusade. Fucks sake the fact that vanilla players ask for or care to ask for tbc shows they don’t want vanilla all that bad. It’s really annoying because I want classic and I quit after tbc. Tbc was good but holy shit vanilla was the best. All of my friends and I will unsub if they change cap level to 70 and re release any expac. The guy will re-die. And for players to not see that, well they didn’t experience the life and death of the best game ever created on this side of heaven baby.

@@camf2895 Most people want tbc because they want the old style of progression, the way the game was back before they changed the world with cataclysm. Saying that people don't want classic "enough" just because they wanna see tbc after classic has been out for a few years isn't really fair, that's obviously the next step for the game and people don't want new content @ 60 because they are afraid blizzard will fuck it up. Also, for alot of people, TBC was even better then vanilla (because of arena etc) but they still enjoy vanilla. Don't try and belittle people for not ONLY liking vanilla, that's just stupid. And people who want new content in vanilla dont seem to understand what power creep is, and what it means. Here is a quick summary; Power creep is the amount of stats/power of an item in the game. The further into vanilla we get, the higher the power creep gets which means the more powerful the gear gets. By naxxramas, the gear is so ludicrously powerful that you can basically one shot people all the time. If they continue to make new content for vanilla, they would have to make the new gear more powerful because otherwise, what's the point? But by doing that, you increase the potential of one shotting everything even more, and pvp would be completely ruined. Most vanilla pvpers say that naxx gear isn't fun in pvp already, since it's too powerful so gear from content past naxx would be even less fun. Also, just because they make tbc after classic has been out for a few years, doesn't mean they will stop doing classic. Most likely, they will let people choose whether they want to stay on the realm and progress to TBC or copy your character to a realm that stays 1.12 all the time. And then they will probably open fresh classic servers once that happens.

43:45 I have to agree with Asmongold on this one. The computers are waaay better. Higher resolutions means less cluttered UI's, higher frame-rates, smoother gameplay, faster reaction times allowed. And internet connections are way more solid now. Higher bandwidth, lower latency, means more stable connection.

Purples from high-end raids each patch shouldn't be replaced within a level or two when that next expansion comes out. Sure, they'll have some good upgrades in the current content - by why not boost those purples up when a new exp releases? That way, it doesn't seem like such a waste of time and resources doing those raids. Have those epic items be good enough and upgraded that they'll last at least another 5-10 levels thru the next expansion.

It's not about WoW but it is a funny story related to private server's in MMOs, in Lineage 2 C3 (Extreme private server if I'm not mistaken) , there was a dragon Raid Boss known as Antharas, the Aliance that I was part of decides to do da raid. When we get to the Boss and start fighting a guild a freand that was a dark elf Abyss Walker does a back stab skill in the Boss, this skill has a instakill probability of 1% (it takes the HP of the target to 1 HP) normally raid bosses cannot be affected by instakill but being a private server, the boss was bugged and the instakill was registered, it was the shortest raid I have haver participated in. Nearly 100 people all the prap we have gone through, and the Boss was killed in 2 hits. My friend spent the rest of the week apologizing. Fun times.

new content for vanilla would be amazing, I mean if they actually picked original ideas... because there was lot of unfinished content which TBC basicly threw out of a table, there was for sure many unfinished raids and dungeons, and even a battleground I believe, there were even entrances, but it never came to be open, and ofcourse emerald dream, which was in the game for so long time.. accesable only with GM powers but it was definetly worked on, since vanilla

Azshara was supposed to be a pvp zone but was left incomplete with only the basic Alliance/Horde buildings remaining and a few normal quests. Other than that I've never heard of an unfinished battleground or at least I don't remember having heard about one.

I like when you can mob share, and the best mmo s are ones the have open world bosses or open world raids, besides some dungeons or heroic raids, I HATE INSTANCES. Mob stealing is what destroyed this. Was nice fighting a hard npc an struggling, then having another person run by and throw a nuke in and drop the mob to 5% hp so now he was easily defeated. I miss those days. One thing i really hate is when your trying to kill a mob either from a distance or from a ledge or some way that the mob cant get at you and even though your hitting the mob and should be doing damage the game will not count the dps and you have to get in closer to be able to do damage. It should not matter, if you can hit a enemy you should be doing damage. Or worse yet, say your kiting a mob and got it almost dead, then all of a sudden it runs back to its spawn point and goes back to full health, possibly because you got slightly to far away. Abit unfair for range classes (hunters,casters) a Npcs hp should never go back up unless they use healing or they respawn after being killed. Love your videos and streams Asmon, "BuT" i do think u talk shit sometimes and mabe not straight out lie, but you do kinda BS at times... Love ya still though Asmon. A very close friend of mine, more like a brother i used to hang with even lived with reminds me of you 99%. He looked majorly like you, talked like you, even was addicted to WoW like you, probably still is lol. That's the thing not EVERYONE get anywhere near max back in the day , most people quit until the next expansion, I know dozens of people who played who knew nothing about the game and still don't know anything but say they can't wait to play it (classic), most of the player base won't have this ultra serious knowledge of everything like a walking encyclopedia, I for one only took interests in World PVP and raided when I had to or when I had nothing else to do, I still know fuck all about raiding but it'll be fun because it will feel like a new game to me and many people like me.

People think that Vanilla is a big deal but i played on good vanilla private - Twinstar.cz and with addons, and guild of average good people it is not a challenge like it was when wow begins many years ago. I think players will realize that and population on vanilla will quickly decrease becouse they return to new exp or find another game and only few really hardcore classic players stay there.
