@Sean B @@Screamingtilltheend To be fair, the chat is a literal constant tidal wave of text. It's hard to write out a decent rebuttal or well thought out response to the only guy who has a mic & cam i.e. the ability to directly respond and jump ontop of any argument whereas even IF you manage to quickly type out a full response the chances of him not reading it/the chat just burying it are extremely high. So it would be stupid of us to expect the chat not to devolve into quick one-liners or curt responses. Hell, I don't even think it's fair for everyone to blindly assume the allegiances of the chat based on said short responses. Understand that streamchats do not lend themselves to discussing topics of this caliber. I think it could be beneficial for everyone involved to see Asmongold actually picking someone in his chat out and talk with them over voice and discuss this topic as adults.

@@Enjoyingthetrance Even if some of these people created long rebuttals to Asmon's opinions, they're still absolutely stupid. So many comments mentioning that he was overdosing as an excuse for why the guy had his knee on his neck. People mentioning that he was a criminal. Or that if you just comply with the police nothing bad will happen to you. The comply one is the most annoying to me. Ryan Whitaker died because the police knocked on his door and hid out of sight from his peephole, so he grabs his gun and opens to door to look outside. The police shine a light in his face, scream at him, then shoot him in 3 seconds. As the girlfriend is having a meltdown at the fact her boyfriend is lying there dying as the police just stand around they start to bullshit their way out of the situation with her. If you watch the video you can see he is putting his hands up as they shoot him. These people that spout this garbage are deplorable.

I think America is super flawed. The system promotes freedom, but a lot of the time the best way to get something done is following protocol, but the systems that said protocols are in is also fucked so its just all around a shitshow. If the people wanted revenge, they contact the police, but the system is fucked so things like this happen. It doesn't need to be so complex, if the police are trying to arrest someone and that person dies, without said person directly endangering the lives of others, the police should always be held accountable. If someone has gun charges in the past, they aren't directly endangering the lives of others right now. As long as the person is not wielding a weapon (as in its in their hands), cuffing or tasering if they're resisting should always be the protocol and action taken. Now if the person refuses to hand over their weapon, you try to apprehend them with tasers. Also, bodycams should be required for every police officer and if something happens and the cop's camera isn't on, the cop shouldn't be tried as a cop, they should be tried as a normal citizen and charged with obstruction of evidence. Just my take though.

This is why activists have been calling for cops to have more training. The majority of police training that currently exists is firearms training. Very little of it is de-escalation or emotion management, which are crucial in situations like this. We have higher standards of conduct for soldiers, whose job it is to go to other places and kill people - why do we not hold the people who are supposed to be "serving and protecting" to a similar standard? You can call it officers being human and being scared, but training is supposed to at least partially alleviate that. Giving a gun and a badge to a person who spooks easily doesn't make for an effective law enforcement force.

Also, if something happens in your neighborhood multiple times I don't think it qualifies as something you saw on the internet. While I think what most people get wrong with George F is the facts of what happened, the way they understand it would be an unacceptable outcome. I took issue with the way Asmon framed the case. The guy was obviously taking alot of happy pills and had committed fraud with the fake $20. Cops are right to arrest him and with force if he resists. Simple as. the knee thing is blown out of proportion. it's not a choking hold, he expired from the pills. The thing is though if cameras weren’t involved the cops could lie and get away with whatever, because the courts will always believe the cops first. 10 years ago it’s a strong possibility he would’ve never been arrested. We need much criminal justice reforms on so many levels, for one everyone knows war on drugs is such a failure we need to look at it as a health issue not a war. B. Privatized prisons need to be done away with completely, “criminals” should never be looked at like a business opportunity. C. Redistribute police funds to focus on training, cause god knows we need it especially when someone mistakes a gun for a taser. But violence with officers your guaranteed to lose, which is why comply as much as possible I agree with, and hope to god it’s enough. I honestly think, reforming our laws could go a long way in police reform. Because our justice system is really screwed up right now.

@funyarinpa336
@funyarinpa336 3 жыл бұрын
Officer Lane (the cop whose bodycam footage detailed it all) was heard in the video telling Chauvin to turn Floyd on the side because even he understood that there was an issue with applying pressure to the neck for such an extended period of time. As part of the lawsuit they went through Minneapolis police procedues to see which types of neck restraint are permitted. As part of that they revealed that the only permissable options are conscious neck restraint in which LIGHT pressure is applied to the neck (you are basically not even trying to pressure the neck itself, just keep the restrained person from lifting their head), which was ruled out since Chauvin put a majority of his bodyweight on Floyds neck. And then there is unconscious neck restraint where you do actually apply stronger pressure in order to press down on the arteries in the neck and have the person pass out. If that was what Chauvin was trying to do, then he was doing it in a position that he was never taught in training and regardless of position, when it comes to the time the pressure was applied he was way out of line. Unconscious neck restraint is supposed to be applied for 10-20 seconds until the target passes out. If it does not pass out, then you did it incorrectly and you try again after a delay. There is no scenario in which you just knee on a persons neck for minutes on end. Eventually they were so at their wits end when trying to connect what he did to police procedure, that they called in a MMA fighter as a witness to try and explained who said that what Chauvin did looked like something called a "blood choke" in which you also pressure the arteries in the neck for around 10 seconds until the opponent either taps out or falls unconscious. Even there the information was, that if those 10 seconds lead to neither tapping out nor unconsciousness, then you are applying pressure to the wrong spot and will need to reposition or will be stopped by the ref. Long story short, this was far from just "bad optics". It was someone restraining someones neck in a way that aligns with neither police procedure, not martial arts and doing so for around 27 times longer than you are supposed to apply such pressure for AT THE MOST, obviously resulting in the victims death. The Minneapolis chief of police agreed with this, Chauvins colleagues that were on the scene agreed with this, medical professionals agreed with this and martial artists agreed with it as well. Not as single person went "Yep, that's how you control a perp. All good."

He was on the ground for 9 minutes because that's how long it took for the ambulance to arrive. US gov wouldn't dare to use military on millions of armed americans, because that would just seal the deal for their own defeat, troops would disobey and ignore the commands if they ever got any and the politicians and leaders that ordered it would get the boot. Gov can track cellular/location data of the masses in real time and what not but against a few million people all over the country they are toast.
