Indeed, Kythera-Κύθηρα (along with Antikythera) is part of the Ionian (Heptanese) Islands, when they are treated as a historical/geographical region, but administratively it belongs to Attica (think Manchester- it is in historical Lancashire, but administrated as Greater Manchester). Now in terms of why that is, I vaguely remember having read that it was because of gerrymandering, but I couldn't find anything attesting to that now. Great video by the way, as always!
