@@tom18a12 I've read Kafka on the Shore, Hard-Boiled Wonderland, and and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, of which Kafka was my favorite!

I read War and Peace last year. Good to keep a character chart or family tree next to you while reading!

Your book vids are my fav!!! I get more ASMR when I'm into the books that someone is talking about, and we have the exact same reading tastes (which is sooo rare to find even on booktube, but almost impossible in ASMR booktube D:)

I just finished reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote during my Easter break - what an unsettling, fascinating read. I could only read it during the day though as I kept getting spooked 😩

I read "In Cold Blood" too. Interesting reading, but very disturbing. People tend to look at the past through rose-coloured glasses. Bad things happened in every decade.

Anna Karenina is one of all time favorites!! I do recommend drawing/writing down all the characters if u have trouble remembering them!! I often times make a lil family tree of sorts for books I read (was recommended by an English lit prof I’ve had and I think it highly pays off!!)

I'm trying to read more books but sometimes I literally forget the page that I just read or a whole paragraph and that can be so frustrating haha. English is my third language so I'm aiming to read more english books but sometimes everything turns into gibberish

just keep trying! doesn’t matter how much material you read but what you understand and what really sticks with you. maybe use sticky notes to help guide you thru books?

A good tip is to use a ruler (or bookmark, anything really!) as you read down the page. It really helps with reading the page line by line rather than intimidating blocks of text.

I’ve found it’s helpful to read books at your reading level and building stamina rather than trying to force yourself to read harder books bc it’s what other people are doing. Even if that means reading children or YA books, I think it really helps build confidence and enjoyment with reading.

I'm bitting through war and peace piece by piece too. Tolstoy is just a master of prose. He is just suprisingly tender and warm. It is just a wonderful book.

Added to the list! Although in truth it will probably be a little bit before I do it. Lately I've been thinking I want to buy some more color 😱 You don't see it much in the room where I film but the rest of my home is pretty colorful and I've been loving that, so I've been craving something similar in my clothes lately, eg really loving that sort of spearmint color I wore in my 5 channels under 5K video

war and peace is iconic, I think my fave was dr. zhivago, after all quiet on the western front. you are the perfect girl next door, looks like a model but is intellectual, before I stopped dating 2 years ago girls and friends thought I wanted the model type, nope, the girl next door

I want to hop on the War and Peace train but I loaned my unread copy to a friend and they'll probably take two years to read it 😅 I am currently reading Dubliners by James Joyce and Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran. And am also making my way through the Bhagavad Gita.

My book club just read Tender is the Flesh and we tore it to bits 😭😭 but I have been reading All About Love by Bell Hooks surrounding that which has softened the blow of such a poorly written and pessimistic novel

I’m currently reading The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk. After really enjoying her earlier two novels, I was hesitant to pick up a 900+ page historical fiction by her, but I’m loving it, so far! Highly recommend!

I was similarly intimidated! But I really liked Flights and I LOVED Drive Your Plow, so I think it's for me -- plus now your positive review! Probably after War and Peace though 😅

Yes, definitely pick it up after War and Peace! It’s kind of similar reading experience I think, where it’s OK to only fully understand 70% of what’s happening. At least that’s how I get through most Russian classics 😅

I read No One Is Talking About This recently and I really hated it 😭 I guess the style is really not for me. Started reading Boys Don’t Cry by Fiona Scarlett today and I’m loving it! Love these videos 💗

Yeah I mean you heard me talking about No One -- there was lots to appreciate about it, but I did not love it either, and I don't blame you for hating it. I myself felt unsatisfied? But still glad I read it? But could have done without it, but also have never seen anything like it, but pretty much felt unmoved, but also think Lockwood is the best 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤷🏻‍♀️
