As someone who has a really important Spanish exam tomorrow, this came at the perfect time. I hope I can learn Spanish in my sleep. Thanks Jocie for everything you do! [UPDATE] So it’s been a while but good news, I got an A in my overall exam. I’m sorry that this update took so long but the exam was a nation wide test in my country with different parts to it, a spoken and written part for Spanish at least, and there are other subjects as well of course. They are the most important exams in my country and I just want to thank Jocie for the extra Spanish help and everyone who has wished me luck/wanted an update. Haha, listening to Spanish in your sleep works apparently. Muchas gracias :)

I'll be working in an area that has a pretty significant spanish-speaking population soon and am hoping to really work on my spanish (took beginner college-level courses in high school but that was like 5 years ago now and I don't remember much of it) before I start. This type of content is awesome for me to just better immerse myself in the language, since I'm currently living in an area that is pretty strictly English-speaking. Thank you so much :)

Jocie this is so good!! Your Spanish sounds excellent! Just one thing, in Spanish things have their own pronouns like "el" o "ella" so for example, at the beginning you asked if we wanted an extra pillow, in English you'd say "I have an extra pillow if you want *it*", you are refering to the pillow as "it" but in Spanish pillow is a femenine noun, you'd say "hay una almohada extra si *la* quieres" But overall that's a really good Spanish pronunciation, and very fluent I must say! I hope one day I can be just like that in English! Lol

As a Mexican immigrant who’s about to start college in a couple of months, this story was very inspirational and wholesome. In my college majority are Asians and White, which will be new to me since I grew up in south LA schools, making me fear that I won’t fit in or that our cultural differences will make it hard for me to connect with people, but this story has given me a new perspective. Thank you so much for this video, it was exactly what I needed and I think I’ll buy that book, it should be a good reminder in the future 🫶🥰

I learned some Spanish when I was younger and try to engage with it still as an adult because I genuinely love the language, I'm just out of practice. I love using videos like this as a vocabulary reminder, I'll listen to them and see if I can parse what's being talked about, and this one was great. It had a lot of familiar phrases and the subtitles helped when I wanted to check back and figure out what the word I didn't understand meant. Wonderful video, thank you so much!
