Sooo relaxing. But just wondering...what's wrong with glass/mason jars with handles? Seems much more ethic than other materials

So, I have this real problem with handled mason jars because they contribute to the problem they're pretending to solve. The original idea of drinking from a mason jar is that you're re-using an existing glass jar, rather than buying off-the-shelf drinking glasses and thus increasing the global demand for virgin glass (ie. not recycled glass). But a mason jar with a handle is a product specifically created -- from virgin glass no less -- to look like a product whose cultural cache is largely in its eco-sustainability. It's the ultimate capitalist consumer irony and it breaks me out in mental hives. Xx
