16:32 Pianos do have strings, and they do count as string instruments in orchestration. The strings are violins, violas, cellos, contrabass/double bass, piano and harp. Harp and piano are the outliers, since harp is plucked and piano is hammered

gibi: there's five strings on a violin me, a former violinist: no gibi: they're c, b, d, e, f, and g me: that's six- but most of what she said about the violin is correct!! it's just there's two places you can tune (the fine tuners and the pegs), it is fairly similar to the piano (they both use the same clef), and it has four strings (g, d, a, and e)

Can’t wait to watch you explain the violin hahaha Edit: Ooh ok violin Info correction time! - 4 strings (GDAE) - you can tune it both at the top and with the four fine tuning pegs near the bottom - you only really play the violin on your left shoulder and it’s rare to find a left-handed violin if at all; probably rarer than finding a left-handed bass or guitar - you hold the violin with your chin, not your neck lolol - true about accidentally hitting strings at the same time while playing haha - that vibrating technique is actually called vibrato and is done with the left hand by wiggling your fingers back and forth on the string while moving your wrist!

I’d like to add - for vibrato the movement in your fingers comes from moving either your wrist or arm back and forth very quickly, depending on what kind of vibrato you’re doing! It’s very cool and can years to learn (signed, a violist of seven years)

@@weedlechu oh wow! i started off with violin and switched to viola after about 3 years i think? my teacher just preferred it and encouraged me to switch. they’re basically the same (viola’s a bit bigger) but use different clefs. but violin is a beautiful instrument and i hope you keep up with it :))
