Before creating this video, I did my best to research copyright laws, bearing in mind that these are constantly evolving, and the application to AI-generated art is still being explored. My research suggested that my editing software trained it’s AI on material with permission from the artists. Also, because my video creates something new (i.e. “Derivative Work with Originality” it seems to fall under the "fair use" exception in copyright law. I’m obviously not a lawyer specialising in copyright law, but I did my best to research this before creating this homage to Anime. I’m open to learning, so please do not hesitate to share your thoughts with me. Sweet dreams my friends xx

while it likely isnt technically illegal or breaking copyright law and i appreciate that you've gone to the effort of looking into it. the issue is the nature of AI and its use is unethical. it steals real artists work, generates images based on their without their permission. plus broader implications of this such as taking human jobs by stealing human work. but, love your work and it's cool to see you try something different. would be even cooler to do something collaborating with real people 🥰

Lovely to see! Since the specific editor uses AI trained with artist consent, no issues. Ai is here to stay, and people need to both understand that and check before getting pitchforks. AI is only an issue when it is trained with stolen art and/or the creator claims to not have used it. It's tracing but with robots; all good if done properly, which you did. Thanks for the lovely video with unique idea and visuals!

Very cool video! The way it fades from you to animated you was very cool! Just the effect alone is hypnotizing in and of itself. I’m really curious what tools you used. To all the people critical of AI. I get your concerns. However, I am a writer and a cartoonist and I don’t see AI as theft at all. AI is trained on preexisting work but so are all human artists. We all learn from other artists first. Is George Lucas guilty of theft because he borrowed elements from other people’s work to create Star Wars? No. Art is built on other people’s art. Music has been doing this for years, too. Not just sampling but much more.

@@TheASMRPsychologist I asked myself this question and thought about it before commenting for about 15 minutes, I'm not sure. I think the image of a face peering directly and uninterrupted at me from behind a fire but hidden by the dark is a danger signal for me? I don't really know why i felt the way i did. I don't know if this part is unrelated, but I actually ended up sleeping and had an unsettling dream, dealing with some unprocessed/unresolved anger towards my mother that I'd forgotten I had. I had also watched a video on complex childhood trauma before sleeping, so like I said I'm not sure if that part is unrelated. It was deeply unsettling though, I had to skip forward, then I eventually stopped watching, came back to the video, then skipped all the way forward to the cherry blossoms which were nice, but then I couldn't stop thinking about the image, so I moved on to the other video mentioned. Thank you for asking! And THANK YOU for your video! And for the link to another video!!!

If an artist displays their work publicly and a random person sees it and then goes home and creates something similar, is that theft? It is certainly a derivative work but it doesn’t make sense to call it stolen. It’s not like an AI company is using private images from people 🤔
@got_rats10 ай бұрын
That is simply not true, it steals nothing. It references them, just as a real artist will do for every piece they make. You mean that using references and trying new styles is robbery, or does only artificial intelligence apply to that definition?
