So crazy to see that Rift walked the same streets I have so many times. It's like Santa came to town, I'm elated to see my local hometown area in an ER video! Edit: genuinely tweaking that Rift was within walking distance at the time of filming, I cannot believe such an icon was so nearby. Honestly if you are still in the area as of posting this you should really hit up Hawk Mountain, its beautiful and there is alot of good history to go into- like all the forest there has been regrown/was logged, the river of rocks, the History of the Hawks, and also the Civil Air Patrol school. Also while we are on rocks you should hit Ringing Rocks at some point. You could do it with a mix of Nockamixon which is close by and is a man made lake made by flooding a town(there are a few towns that happened to back in the day) and its near a set of Masonic Pyramids. Also in Palmerton there is a beautiful house that can be seen from 248 its considered haunted because nothing grows outside it(the ground is all red) its called the Marshall Mansion. I also dont know how you would manage it- but walking through a deserted Knoebels would be pretty cool as well. Mount Moriah cemetery is a really beautiful. And if you look into it there are tons of abandoned mining towns like over 100 in PA that you can still find ruins of and some of them have really wild stories. There is also stuff like the story of the Green Man you could dive into- though that story is more sad then haunting. Edit to add its also painful- its not the Skul-keel, its the Sure-keel to those of us who know the river and the road😂😂😂.

Ahh you beat me to it! Lived in Kempton PA back in 2020. He must check out Hawk mountain

@thornback56416 ай бұрын
@@EphemeralRift many wonderful places but many more are now sadly gone like the Graffiti Highway in Centralia(I don't know if its still standing but they use to have a beautifuly designed church). Or alot of the old hospitals- The Allentown State Hospital one had been in really good condition still before they tore it down the state police sere working out of it- enough to also film a pretty major movie just before they did demo. The places may have had a dark history but that building and campus were stunning. Even iconic places like Bethlehem Steel are basically being left to rot and they really don't seem to be preserving it I always find it a shame when such architecture is torn down. At least for now I know a few places like the Marshall Mansion that are being well kept- due to the the stories behind them. I think they are still renting it out for parties occasionally but to my knowledge its still owned by the bank and not a person as many people have claimed hauntings. Sad because its really a beautiful house/property to leave vacant. Definitely a place to put a fence up if you live there- one stumble off that cliff and you done 🤣🤣🤣.
@thornback56416 ай бұрын
@@samuelculper4231 Pennsylvania has alot of great Forest trails for sure, But Hawk Mountain is definitely in the top ones for me. Part of what makes it so good is how tight a rein they keep on the area.

I have never been to the US but seeing these empty streets with nobody around and even few lights turned on in the houses, I get a very post-apocalyptic vibe and I love it!
@Defectivania4 ай бұрын
you get those vibes especially in small towns in the midwest! lots of former houses that are now just piles of rubble sitting in the middle of otherwise populated neighborhoods, businesses that are always open but never attended, overgrown yards full of junk that's eternally for sale. that might sound a bit depressing, and it's certainly a view of how rural poor people are forgotten by the rest of America..... and yet, there's still a charm to it. post-apocalyptic comfort :)
