Excellent video, Kirby! I really like the departure into something new. ASMR is actually responsible for me developing a passion for fine shoes and shoe care. Many years ago, before people were making videos intentionally for ASMR, I would often watch shoe shine tutorials to relax. Eventually, the passion for the craft that was evident in each video would rub off, and I decided to invest in better quality shoes. This hobby eventually led me to this channel. So this video was particularly enjoyable for me.

Still amazes me every-time I watch him him shine a pair of shoes in a suit. Maybe I'm just sloppy but there is simply no way I would not somehow manage to polish on my shirt if nothing else even though Saphir products are not as messy as others on the market.

Nice touch kirby! I watched for the cigars initially. As I learned more of the bespoke process of garments and shoes, I truly began to love the art of it, and of course how relaxing it can be to watch and listen to passionate people creating the things they love. #tingles #ASMRtist

I have a qustion. What is the difference between saphir medaille d'or and saphir surfine cream. I mostly buy brown shoes, and have only one black pair. So i was thinking about bying the surfine cream because im afraid it will dry out before i get to use the entire container.

Hi Kirby, I've noticed in some of your videos, that you apply the polish with your fingers. Mostly, even with the cotton chamois, it's close to impossible to avoid getting some polish on your fingers & nails. My question - what, in your opinion, is the best way of removing this polish after you're done? Thanks.

Hello Kirby - I’m a huge fan of your chanel and your new videos are really superb! We have in fact met at NYC event a couple of years ago and since then I really grew to appreciate the MTO and bespoke shoe making versus simply designer shoes. I just purchased my first George Cleverly from your site - an espresso color slip-on - and I wonder how you would recommend to patina it to be LIGHTER in color. I love patinas and I love unusual and daring color combinations. I’m curious what your experienced sensibility would see in this Hauge model being lightened up. Thank you

Hello Kirby, thank you for the great content. I am beginning my journey into quality dress shoes. My question: Is it advisable to take off nice shoes when driving so as to prevent premature wear? Or is this an excessive measure?
@caleb84105 жыл бұрын
I do, but I drive stick shift. If I were wearing loafers or perhaps nice boots I might not be as concerned.

When shinning, should you always remove your shoe trees or should you leave them in according to the shoe? I noticed that you removed yours and wondered if there was any particular reason. Thankyou.

Love your channel, but I wonder why you don't spend time on the part under the welt? Those blotches of discoloration of black/brown seems to be an easy fix. However, as now now, they stand out more so than the shine itself

Hello Kirby! It has been a while since I have been on your channel. I went back to one of your older videos on the Presidential Shoe Shine. You mentioned in that video that the Medaille D'OR Mink conditioning cream is the same thing as the Dubbin Graisse conditioner. Is there any instance where one would be better to use than the other? Or is the only difference the texture? Thanks!

Hi Kirby, Been having a problem in the final stages of applying wax. I use saphir products to get a mirror shine. Prett much the same process you have. Move from a wax to three layers of mirror gloss then add a couple layers of wax on top and notice that a grainy smudge develops on one side of the toe. The rest of the toe holds a good mirror shine but this spot looks like a scuff that sticks out that develops between the layers. Has this ever happened using the saphir products? Or do you know what may be going wrong on the road to glacage?
@zacharygraham52665 жыл бұрын
I've noticed the same thing when I wax my Cole Haans. I'm seeing success by letting the shoe dry after I apply a layer of wax. After it drys, its more receptive to wax and the smudge doesn't permeate the wax, but then I have to let it dry again. It appears that a couple of more layers of wax should fix it.

Hi kirby, I thought we are not supposed to put wax where the shoe may bend? It looked like you waxed the entire shoe.

Key is to not overly wax. One or two coats with a hard wax polish will not crack. Anything more and, yes, you’ll see cracking.

@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez Interesting... Perhaps another contributing factor on this pair in particular is that the shoes are seamless and thus stretch more (leather stretches more than seams).
