Hoping you might be interested in this....I'm trying to prove to the healthcare community that ASMR is a viable treatment. So I am doing a research study to publish in a scientific journal. The more who get involved, the more powerful the results will be. Here's the link to the survey, it takes 5-7 mins to complete. If it feels right to do so please share it with anyone you think might be interested: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TheASMRPsychologist-1

I also have PTSD linked to my first birth and endometriosis, so I often find myself viewing your sleep hypnosis videos as a way to calm down and get some rest. endometriosis?
@missjparsons19844 жыл бұрын
@@EdgeOfLight yeah, it's a gynecological issue where tissue like the womb lining goes rouge in the abdominal cavity, attaching to the outside of organs causing scar tissue to form. It has a whole slew of other symptoms including bladder and bowel issues, period issues, cysts, fatigue etc. I don't get all of that but some. No cure, surgical removal offers temporary relief and hormones can reduce the symptoms.

This really is interesting. I've followed ASMR right from the start - way back in 2010 when there was very little of it around. I stumbled on it when I was looking for relaxation videos to help me sleep and that was always hit or miss. Now and then, I found one or two that reminded me of something that used to happen to me when I was a child. In certain very specific situations a strong sensation of wellbeing accompanied by a pleasant shiver that started at the top of the head and spread down through my shoulders and spine. It usually happened when someone was speaking gently and directly to me, close-up so I associated it with trips to the doctor or even the dentist, again, though, when I was a small child. It amazed me to find, quite by accident in 2011, a Russian-American KZbinr (Maria) who was actually making videos designed to induce this effect, and that it had a name. So now, years later, that a psychologist is taking this seriously enough not only to research the phenomenon but to develop it further into a "legitimate" therapy is wonderful. I hope the project is going well!

I've had a really bad headache in the back of my head and my sinuses hurt too, so my overthinking about the pain just made it worse. Mainly I was upset because my medications didn't help much, yet I can't explain how this hypnosis and soft speaking actually calmed me down. But that reminded me when I was a kid and used to have bad stomach aches, my mom would do the "pulling the thread" kind of method and sometimes it really made it go away. This video hit close to home, I was able to fall asleep without any worries of tomorrow. Thank you so so much, I loved it❤️

Thank you for this! It was surprisingly effective, in a different way than mindfulness pain relief. I wonder if you could use the two together somehow. I also hope you get a bigger audience and a lot of attention for your research! We need more research into new things that people report are effective for them, rather than far too often sniffing at it and assuming it must be placebo (and then also not recognizing the fact that placebo is still a real effect, HELPFUL and can be a useful tool in it's own right).
