Tito was one of the most important people in Non-Aligned movement, yes. We can say it was formed on his initiative, but it wasn't only him. Also, Yugoslav type of communism, called Titoism after him basically, was both in theory and practice very different from Stalinist communism. We can say it kinda encouraged corporatism and capitalism in a way, market was not strict closed economy like in Soviet Union, but rather a more liberal one. The government on the other hand was pretty the same, while he was alive Yugoslavia was a one-party communist state, though he did allow various inside wings of the the party to exist, each of those having their own vision of how state could/should be run and people were not persecuted because of that. Yugoslavia pretty much played the both sides to it's own gain. Tito realized if he is to side with the Soviets, it would mean surrendering nation's sovereignty to Soviet Union and isolation from the democratic side of the world. And if he sided with the West/NATO, it would diminish everything he and partisans fought for - communist cause, which was the only thing that kept Serbs, Croats, Bosnians and all other from murdering each other again, and could even provoke a third world war. This decision is today proved to be the right one, which eventually led to the years of prosperity, peace and advancement in the 60's and 70's and made Yugoslavia a very strong player at the time. Yugoslav passport was, I think at the time, one of the strongest and if not the strongest one at the world, where a person having it was able to travel to almost every country in the world, to USA even without a visa.

@@ASMRGeographica And thank you for your great content, I sleep well every night :D Also, people from ex-Yugoslavia may disagree on numerous things, but most of us will agree on Tito, doesn't matter if you are a conservative, liberal, communist, left, right, centre, blah blah blah, every one of us can find atleast one good sentence to say about him. Because he was all of the above, a man of people, for people, that did best for his country. Surely a most capable politican of the 20th century, but that is just my opinion.

No lol. It was made by the hominid species that homo sapiens evolved from.
