I hope someone sees this who can answer. Whenever I watch asmr that actually relaxes me, I feel like uhhh. Idk it feels harder to breath and my heart feels like it’s just gunna stop cause I’m so freaking relaxed lmaooo. It SOUNDS WAY WORSE THAN IT FEELS XD but sometime it gives me anxiety. Scares me a little lol makes me a little scared to go to sleep... like I won’t wake up xD. I guess my Q is, is this normal? Does this happen to anyone else and like what’s it mean? Lol halp

I can’t say I’ve personally experienced it myself but it might have something to do with the position you’re laying in when watching it. If your neck is bent or you’re laying on your stomach or curled in a fetal position it may make it more difficult to take deep breaths. Try laying in a few different positions and see if that helps! If not, I think you’re just getting super super relaxed. If it makes you feel better, the heart rate slows down once we are sleeping anyways 😂 BUT if this is something that doesn’t change and continues to give you anxiety no matter what changes you make, it would be best to just stay away from watching videos that you know would trigger that response. Listening to your body and mind are most important; even if the subject itself is technically relaxing, if you’re getting anxiety from it, it’s best to remove that source of worry and discomfort. I don’t know if this is the same thing, but when sometimes as I’m falling asleep I catch myself holding my breath because it’s hard to breathe, and I wake up? Probably different, but I get it with anxiety too

Yeah this is normal, your heart rate probably just gets super low, and it feels like you're just sinking into the bed or couch. It happens more often for me when I'm already kind of tired/relaxed, but the tingles are just super intense sometimes!

When I meditate sometimes I forget to breath. Breathing slows down and I just forget when having a successful meditation. Maybe you are entering a meditative state while watching ASMR that works for you
