I, also, took Mandarin in College but am very out of practice. I have only found one person to speak to so I have lost nearly all of that language. Even when you spoke it, I understand less than half the words. Very sad for how hard I had to work to learn Mandarin. Also, that was around 30 years ago and that doesn't help me to retain the language.
