Yes, truly man-made (in the Great Pyramid in Meereen I'm talking about). Unlike here so many people think that our early ancestors couldn't possibly built the Great Pyramid of Giza and other pyramid in Egypt. They more think it was built by Aliens, what short-minded they have. Modern men today truly underestimated our ancestors ingenuity towards astounding marvelous architectural wondrous they have built.

To make the map more realistic, you could also add the river that goes through Sarnath, I think it is named Sarn and flows opposite to Royn (south to north). This is where the Tall Men created their civilization, you probably know about that.

Not when you consider its description in the books. While Storms end is build to isolate the winds Casterly rock isnt just a castle, its the entire rock itself. Entrance is at the bottom of the cliffs and the entire household is a complex layer of floors and rooms connected to the main keep up top, the mines below and so forth.

Sir Anti of the Church of Chernobog the wall is pretty amazing to me, 300 miles of 700 foot high ice, that's madness. The five forts is impressive but not seemingly impossible as the wall is
@polilla318
@polilla318 7 жыл бұрын
Squiffles dude, the five forts are 1,000 feet tall, 300 feet taller than the wall, made of oily black stone that's said to be smooth and it all seems to be one piece instead of looking like it has bricks like other castles and forts, in addition to its tall walls it's said the towers inside are even taller, and they are carved into mountains bordering the grey waste, the only thing about the wall that's impressive is that it's made of ice and pretty tall, but we can explain it through magic, the five forts are clearly the remains of some old civilization that we know nothing about, neither of them could be achieved by today's technology.

Dragonstone on Storms End should be on this list! The mythology behind that fortress is really interesting, they raised multiple castles that kept breaking by the sea, until they finally built one that wouldn't get destroyed. Also the city of Asshai, was surprised to not see that here.
@nateeskew2075
@nateeskew2075 8 жыл бұрын
1. You're thinking of just Storm's End. Dragonstone is a separate fortress. 2. The reason Asshai wasn't listed is because Lomas Longstrider hadn't gone there. The list was based purely on his adventures.

Somebody did this earlier but had a couple wrong. Here are my guesses: 1) The Wall: Hadrians Wall 2) The Titan of Braavos: The Colossus of Rhodes 3) The Three Bells of Norvos: Great Paul, Great George, and Big Ben 4) The Valyrian Roads: The Roman Roads (possibly the Great Inca Road as well) 5) The Triple Walls of Qarth: The Walls of Constantinople 6) The Long Bridge of Volantis: Up for debate, the London Bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, the Allahverdi Khan etc 7) The Palace with a Thousand Rooms: The Baghdad House of Wisdom (famously destroyed by the Mongols) 8) The Great Pyramid of Ghis: The Great Pyramid of Giza 9) Hightower (maybe?): Library of Alexandria (but also mixed in with the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria. Why not? They were in the same city!)

Idk why they have to line up with real world wonders. Like I wouldn’t exactly compare Hadrian’s Wall to the Wall, cause all they do is separate north and south, but one you can jump over and the other is massive. They might take inspiration but they’re not gonna line up at all to real world stuff.

+darkdude103 Oh, I guess that's certainly possible but I never heard anything about that and the asoiaf wikis don't mention it, they still state Hightower as just a possibility.

The Dragonroads are the Roman roads, Valyria is directly inspired by the Roman Empire

The Titan of Braavos was more likely inspired by the Colossus of Rhodes, one of our world's ancient wonders. The Dragonroads were likely inspired by the roads of the Roman Empire.

Btw, The Wall wasn't inspired by the great wall of China, but rather Hadrian's Wall. G.R.R.M. has said it himself.
