Raising a child on the spectrum and watching you sitting in front of the camera and doing this video so confidently which puts you way above all those non-autistic people I know. That including myself who will not be comfortable at all doing that or be able to talk so rationally and logically. Very inspirational.

As a parent it's important that you understand your child is different and nurture him while teaching and expecting he conform to "social norms". That's a vague term but we need to be equipped with tools to navigate our way through life. One day, your child will leave the nest and he can excel in a field he likes. I was never diagnosed and while life was a challenge, vocationally in the end I did okay. I always just wanted for someone to understand how I felt. I didn't get that until my 3rd wife. Having a diagnosis is a definite advantage. It's not an excuse for behaviors, it's an answer where they come from. Acceptance instead of criticism or scorn. Don't worry about what other's (Neural Typical s) think for they are oblivious to the world and people around them, for the most part they are not looking and seeing critically as we fear. I'm also face blind, have sensory issues and retired after 35 years as a private investigator. I've always known I was "different" and never knew why until age 64 to 68.

I have fairly severe social anxiety and you know what guys? Aspies make me feel comfortable, because they don't pick up on how nervous I am to be talking to them. My partner is an aspie, it works perfectly. I am hyper aware of social conventions and what makes people stare/be aware (because I want to be invisible, lol), so I check him when he does silly things. He is oblivious and keeps me calm when I'm panicking in a crowd.

I have a negative impression of Aspergers because my neighbor is an Aspie with a horribly inconsiderate attitude. Living next to him has been a bit of a nightmare, to be frank. I'm happy to see that this fellow seems like a good guy. Honestly he strikes me as a normal person from watching him on this video.
@TheArtyBartfast5 жыл бұрын
That is literally a huge part of living the Asperger's life - your neighbor probably doesn't know he's being a jerk. If you simply talk to him in a pleasant manner letting him know what SPECIFICALLY is odd or irritating, he will probably be receptive. He may not know that it is no socially acceptable to play Guitar Hero without a shirt on and the curtains open at 2AM. Be kind. Be specific. Be patient.

I think it's just like anyone else, they choose good or evil and then the good or evil spreads out from them

It truly is a spectrum, and there are many factors that go into creating a person's identity. I've met a horrendous person with Asperger's, but every other aspie I've met is an angel on earth. It depends 🤍

Odd. It never occurred to me to learn anything from Mario and Sonic. I thought I played them just to pass time.

I have struggled with this my whole life and I know I am an Aspie, but I cannot get diagnosed, I can’t find help. What do I do? I need services and help before I end up under the bridge with the rest of the undiagnosed

It’s OK I understand the way you think not your experiences but at least probably the way you think I am on the spectrum too life’s complicated for us

I think you are awesome brother. Thank you for all you help. We are the mutants and the topicals are trying to destroy who we are. I love having Autism, it’s who I am. I’m not sure where I can be excepted? I wish their was a professor x somewhere. I’m a mutant, I am just trying to coexist
