I have silent heart attacks. I was getting a burning on the left side of my neck and the soft side of my arms from my elbow to the armpit . EKG said I was fine but I was having a heart attack with no identifiable symptoms. Even a stress test didn’t show it but it was comparing the before and after CAT scans that showed blockage of the arteries. The CATH lab showed LAD 90% blocked when CAT scan showed 70% blockage. No pain so only the vaguest of warnings so I would have been a gal who would have just dropped dead. In the time since 2019 we have decided that my primary cause is inflammation because I eat very healthy and have no other risks of any significants. Just thought I might share this as it might be of benefit. I can not use even aspirin except when I get chest pressure and I am so sensitive to meds that I can’t take any so I have changed my diet even more. My heart rate and BP are even lower than they were but I am very careful to slow my activity to the level of blood flow so my heart get what it needs and this seems to be the must useful plan.

I'm on Pradaxa and Aspirin and after listening to this, I have no plan to stop either any time soon. Hey also take Vit C regularly to strengthen the collagen in the fine vessals of the brain to hope fervently to prevent any bleed outs!

Capsaicin actually causes the goblet cells (these release the mucus lining which cover you stomach and prevent it from being dissolved from the acid) to release more and more coating for your stomach and tract. Think about how your mouth waters and nose runs when you eat something super spicy. Same thing, except for your stomach too.

From what I understand, aspirin can reduce the probability of having colon cancer.

My understanding too. Just turned 81 years old. I have taken 1/2 aspirin tablet daily since 50 years old. I am in great health...no meds, great blood pressure. My doctor is pleased and amazed. If it "ain't broke, why fix it?"

Actually aspirin doesn't need to be taken everyday, but weekly since its halflife is relatively long so that after 7 days there are still some in the circulation to do its job to some degree. Of course this only applies to those with low risk of CVD.

I am from the group in the middle. I have borderline HBP, slightly high cholesterol level, ECG indicate that I have a weak left ventricle, no adverse heart or brain events. I am on aspirin, ARBs, and cholesterol lowering medications, as preventive medicine. I do regular light exercise, reduce my weight (BMI at 28), and observe a healthy lifestyle. Absolutely no canned soda, cut out packaged food and fast food, watching my sugar, salt and carbohydrate intake. I am now stigmatized has having hypertension and CAD for taking those medication. What's the cure for scurvy? Vitamin C If I am taking Vitamin C, does that mean I have scurvy?

Vit C also prevents the blood vessels walls from leaking but take timed released if you can’t get enough from you food. If you get too much it will give you diarrhea.

@@OJa-cn1jk blood thinners help get blood through narrowed arteries. But do not dissolve arterial plaque in and of themselves. . As far as I'm aware. I'm just guessing

It is interesting that dosage of aspirin in this discussion was never addressed....Is it 325mg or 80 mg once a day as preventative or treatment?

Loretta Caputo 81mg. If you take 325mg a day, you will no doubt cause bleeding in the stomach - very bad.

L Glutamine can help with repairs, along with lots of slippery elm or gel containing herbs. While the gut heals avoid foods which increases intestinal permeability such as chillies or alcohol or caffeine.
