The easiest way I have found to make sure TSA Precheck shows up on your boarding pass is to enter your Known Traveler Number (KTN), which was provided to you in your TST Precheck approval letter, in your frequent flyer profile for the specific airlines you like to fly. Once you do this, if you book future flights though the airline's website, your name, KTN, and other personal info is automatically populated when booking on their website. Though this works most of the time, I always double check that my KTN is entered in the proper field when booking flights, even when logged in to my frequent flyer profile. If your make reservations though third-party websites, you may be able to enter your KTN during the booking process if they have that field available. If that's not an option, after booking the flight with the third-party, many times you can access your reservation though the airlines website where you will be able to make seat selections and enter your KTN. Hope this helps.

+Andrea Ryan I'm not 100% sure their exact situation, but taxis, ubers, public transportation, etc, are pretty reliable ways of getting around, especially in bigger cities like San Francisco! Plus, depending on the company, you can rent a car quite young, you just have to pay pretty crazy fees to do so (and sometimes extra insurance and such). :)

San Francisco is such an amazing place, you will never get bored. Im sure you guys have an amazing trip planned, but there's lots of great food in the ferry building and at the marina. i have tsa pre-check with my global entry. you need to put your traveler id number on your reservation when you make your reservation. the name on your ticket reservation must match exactly your ID/passport, or you'll have problems. So if you have your first middle and last on your docs, make sure it's also on your flight reservation. and that's about it. and when you're issued your ticket, it will say tsa pre-check on there. if not, you can't go through the line. i use it on various airlines :)

I just moved to San Francisco a year ago, I live so close to where you guys are. Make sure you go do the Lands End Trail. Baker beach is really close and both have amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Go to Twin Peaks with unreal views of the whole city! Spend some time in golden gate park all will have unreal spots for awesome pictures and videos! Have fun in the city! Hopefully you'll be here to enjoy then more than just rainy days.

The airport that is closest to where I live gives military TSA Precheck. When we are checking out bags they print the it on our boarding passes. Maybe instead of using the kiosk, you have to get the workers to print your boarding passes. I could be wrong but I hope that helps!!

ASK THE AGENT FOR YOUR TSA PRECHECK! I worked for JetBlue and the agent could type in your TSA ID and it should print out on your boarding pass. But when you make a reservation, the reservation should ask you if you want to add TSA PRECHECK and you could type in your ID. But the agent should be able to do it. If they say "No," then they don't know what they're doing. I've had other agents tell me otherwise and I had to go behind the desk and show them what to do.

For future reference as long as you are checked in & have your plane ticket from the kiosk before boarding time they will still let you on. However, your bags have to be checked in by a certain time so I always have carry on safe stuff. What you can do if you are running late & can't carry on is immediately check in at the kiosk & get your plane ticket then go to the desk of your airline ask for a manager say your running late & have to check your bags ask them to put your bags on the next flight going to the location you're traveling to & ask them to call the gate & tell them you are on your way. If you want TSA Pre check you have to also go to that desk. There are 2 desks, one for checking bags & then a 2nd one. Go to the 2nd one & tell them if they try to send you back over to the check in desk that you need to switch to TSA pre check & want to know how to do that. They will usually take care of it for you if not they will tell you what you need to do.

once a passenger misses the cut off time for a flight, they are usually taken off of the manifest depending on how late they are. this allows the pilot to perform the weight and balance checks mandatory for flight. So even if you had TSA pre-check, get through security super fast and arrive at the plane - the pilot will make a judgement call and usually they still won't let you on a flight. IF YOU HAVE LUGGAGE this is even more unlikely, as the cut off time ensures enough time for your bag to go through all of the screening checks before it goes onto the plane (which is usually 45 minutes). If you're one minute late or 45 minutes late, the same restrictions apply. It sucks, but that's the way it is :( - I'm a former airline employee in Canada, so it might be a bit different in the states, but all restrictions apply for weight and balance checks/luggage clearances. Glad you got there okay!!

For TSA pre check you have to put in your known traveler ID in. It will say it next to the passenger name. You normally have to do this when booking your flight not when you check in. I save them to my frequent flyer info so I never have to think about it again. Then it is super easy.
