I also was tempted but the x8 pci lanes and the high idle power consumption made me decide to wait to see nvidia en amd comes up with. Edit it's now 328 euro

In what world is this going to take "massive amount of market share" from nvidia? For $50 more you get better upscaling and no driver/game compatibility issues. All of these benchmarks that are floating around KZbin are with monster CPUs like the 9800x3d in this one, you are not going to get the same frames as whats presented.

@@thedeleted1337 i guess it will not get that massive amount of market share and its not needed. i dont think, that next gen entry lvl cards are getting much better than the current gen. and if it will outperform the b580 they will sell the cards way above the 250 bucks. most gamers dont wanted spend more than 300 bucks on a gpu and this is good value (if u can get it for 250) the drivers are good, i guess, cause they launched this card rly late and i think, they dont wanted the same crap as with the a770 launch. and yes... with the expansive cpu u will get more frames... but the testing methology will show u what is possible. and if u use a ryzen 5 5600 on a b550 board it will be still good for 250 bucks... would love to test it but i dont wanted spend 320 bucks in germany for that... just wait a litte bit. even for 270 bucks i would buy it.

To be honest with you the 5800x3d is overkill in 95%+ of games, you could probably have gone for a 3600 and it would be perfect for that GPU range. Granted anything more than an Rx 7700xt or rtx 4070 would be bottlenecked.

I'm leaning heavily towards the B580 ... I'll be going up or down :P from my RX590 8G. That card has been a rockstar. But they're sold out here ... and looking on Scambay ... they're selling for between 500-600 dollars :( I haven't even looked at CAD ebay yet ... that'll be even more depressing. Why do i want this card because everything i have seen shows true dollar to value of this card. There is nothing that competes with it right now. If i want a decent GPU i'm looking at 5-700 CAD ... if i can get this GPU at MSRP of 350 bucks CAD ... sign me up. I have seen driver maturity is a big thing for intel right now .. but 6 months to a year and they could be cooking. I'm curious to see a the B700 series now because wow those cards will be something.

It is all about market share. This is a win. Battlemage I believe will release B770/B780 for PCIe 5.0 platform and sell INTEL CPU and GPU as a combo. Think about ARC as a marketing tool. To be honest as it looks INTEL will be the only affordable system. 5080 prices to almost $1600 alone and B770/B780 predicted prices are $450-550. Even with CUDIMM you save $1000 on all new system.

These are not sold as loss but at correct price where it should be gaining market share. Do you think Nvidia 5080 is worth $1600 as the leaks point out? It's greed. Also INTEL gaining market share before B770/B780 will sell like hotcakes plus they are selling all INTEL with CPU. So no you are very wrong company like INTEL that has 80% market share in general wouldn't sell at loss.

@@taishas9905 I went as cheap as possible while still having good performance. I got a 5700x3d for I think 170? and a cheap MB for $55. Only pci e 3.0 but only lose like 1-3 fps. If you aren't looking to go cheap, or want a newer platform, get the tried and true 7600x. Good cpu.

Usually see 580 listed in between 320 - 400€ instead of the marketed sub 300€. At that point they compete against 6750 XT and even the 7700 XT if on sale. Nowadays Alchemist is just as capable as it competition. AMD/Nvidia also have their driver issues and INTEL is no better nor worse anymore. We know AMD does better on some and Nvidia on some and so does INTEL. XeSS XMX is on par with DLSS. Bugger all difference. Also have to be said XeSS2 with XeSS FG and XeLL are backwards compatible and the same can't be said for DLSS to 30 series. I very much doubt that whatever new Nvidia brings to the DLSS isn't backwards compatible for 40 series. With Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (Intel DTT) capable systems you also get Intel Application Optimization (APO) that is the future and said to give 10-50% gains on supported applications. INTEL has done really well and doubled it performance for the Alchemist. A770 I use for 4k that I think even that it has lower FPS count still is more for 4k. It is getting better and better. B580 in my opinion is better at 1440p yet can do 4k on selected titles. Now with XeSS2 the A770 has got a new lease of life.

Unfortunately intel doesn't make any money on these. So they won't be available on a large volume. Their tech isn't really very efficient yet. They are using newest gen nodes and a larger die to compete with last gen from AMD/Nvidia. Its a great deal for consumers who are in the market for a budget GPU, but don't expect lots of availability. Hopefully intel can actually make something that makes money next Gen so maybe we can get some good stratification. Intel for Budget, AMD for mid range and Nvidia for high end. That would be great for consumers overall.

Overclocking the LE you get the same. Temps on LE I feel never go over safe. Noise is that really that noticeable as a selling point? Maybe or maybe not. LE is sold out and so are AsRock and Sparkle. Nothing available in Australia. LE was AU$439 (about US$280) sold out no ETA but the listed price is now AU$469. AsRock and Sparkle sold out no ETA the listed price is now AU$499 from AU$469. These sold out in record time. Had to be quick. Your scores are with 9800X3D but I believe INTEL on INTEL is matching architecture and more optimal with RTEBAR/E Cores. AMD is good and the choice to have on AMD/Nvidia GPU but I would argue because of the difference in GPU architecture INTEL CPU in this case would be better. We saw this with Alchemist that seemed to rely on REBAR +30% and now as you pointed with Battlemage that number has gone up to +50%. That's a big number to put on CPU and I'm sure the difference between AMD and INTEL CPU also goes up. Pure speculation based on what we know from Alchemist. Going back to the top about overclocking there is some crazy numbers been mentioned up to 3200 MHz. Personally this is still to be explore but I can say from A770 these numbers are 2786MHz at 1.16V at 271W. Base is 2100MHz (2400MHz) 225W. That's not too shabby giving almost 10% more performance. Compare that to AMD/Nvidia that is about 1-3% if lucky that I put to clocked almost to the max out of the box leaving next to nothing to play with. With overclocking we are challenging 4060ti 16gb and 6700 that are $400-550 for $250.

Seeing the leaked msrp for their upcoming rdna4 gpus made me loose my hope in amd. They already lost market share from 17 to 10 percent. This also leads to less support by developers. Hopefully intel, arm and img tech can bring some balance to this gpu duopoly madness.

1080p ultra 34 -37 frames I think it’s ridiculous that such a low end card where 1080p is the lowest anyone goes needs frame gen which drops it downn to 765 dpi or even 520, then upscales 1080p needs to be the default minimum now on any card

I'm in the same boat, you're probably running PCIe3. This card only uses PCIe4 x8 so it will run at PCIe 3 x8. His benchmarks show a reduction or 5 tot 10% in performance. Meaning the performance advantage could be gone. (who enables RT in low end cards anyways?) But looking at the completion a 6600xt and a 4060 also only has 8x (so also a performance penalty). But the 3060 does have 16x. I would like to see the reviews between a 3060 and the b580 on a older system. The 3060 is a lot cheaper where I live.

So, does anyone know if a B580 is comparable to an RX6700XT? Better? Worse? Just a little slower? in a system with an AMD 5600 CPU, 16GB RAM, current GPU is an RX580 8GB and his monitor is a 1080p res with 165Hz refresh. What I have seen on comparison B580 on launch drivers is very close to 6700. B580 uses lot less juice for the same FPS. But you need to know that these are very different architectures where FPS is misleading. In my opinion the picture of INTEL ARC is better than AMD or Nvidia. Experience is better and more enjoyable even with less FPS. Also in my opinion you get better results INTEL on INTEL system. You get XeSS2 that has XeSS FG and XeLL. RT is lot better and usable. With Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (Intel DTT) 11th gen CPU and up with INTEL ARC you also get Intel Application Optimization (APO). I have B580 in i7-13700k system but if I were to build all new system I would go with 265k Arrow Lake with two DIMM's of 8400 CUDIMM and B580. Arrow Lake is future proof, fixes coming at January by INTEL giving 6-30% with update on top of that 3-9%, CUDIMM +20% performance boost. But if on budget i7-13700k would be a good choice. I think for long run you would be better off with Arrow Lake. Arrow Lake I would advice to keep on top what is the support on win11 as it was half baked at launch. This should be fixed by now or in near future. Very important to have the latest windows version, BIOS with micro code. I would maybe wait few weeks and check some reviews for the fixes. B580 12gb VRAM 192 bit bus 190W 6700 10gb VRAM 160 bit bus 220W

Tech city Bryan compared the B580 to the RX 6700XT. The B580 was slightly slower but still super solid in comparison. I would check that video out. The only down side is the B580 is mostly sold out and waiting to be restocked. BTW DO NOT buy the over priced Gunnir models.

I dig most of your vids Wendell, but you cant really get these for $250. The cheapest B580 that you can buy from Newegg now is $379. And the cheapest I can get the Steel Legend B580 for in the UK, where I live is $364.80.

The $250 MSRP we were given was before the true scope of the demand for these cards was known. A good win for Intel this year, but a loss for consumers who weren't able to get the first batch.
