An astronomically high subscriber count is not only unnecessary, it doesn't mean anything. There are plenty of incredible creators who don't meet those numbers, perform great, and produce exceptional quality content. I don't know anyone whose YT feeds are stacked with 5M subscriber channels anyway. But I agree that Nick deserves all the support he can get!

They really had us thinking they were gonna do something new with the parkour. It’s the same as the last 3 games. I would really like for AC to get creative and fun with its movement, maybe take a page From Dying Light 2 or Mirrors Edge and add spring vaulting, long jumps, the ability to slide at will etc.

That would actually take a lot more effort I would bargain versus them sticking with the same formula. Game looks good but combat seems mediocre and parkour isn’t even like unity. Don’t forget about microtransactions which I bet will return

@@philip_bray Not really. It's the same engine but they have a few different animations, moves, terrain and (as you mentioned) weight. Examples: You cannot vault over short obstacles, like in Odyssey, in Origins. I can't really explain it, but I just like the feel of Odyssey's parkour.

I’m loving the classical AC format, this will probably be the first AC I buy in many years. I was hoping there would not be any health bars, but it still seems closer to the old games rather than the newer action rpg design of the later games.

They need to refresh that Ac Unity/Syndicate engine and bring some sort of version of it back to these games. I think those engines modernised and bug free would do beautifully. This RPG focused engine feels a bit too floaty and clunky for my opinion

Yes, I'm still pissed that Unity was the mess we got. It could easily be one of my favorite one if not for the bugs and glitches. Also that they ditched coop altogether after only one first buggy attempt😢 So yeah, I would love to have a new Unity-like AC game up to date and bug free

Honestly this lines up with my expectation, considering it's a new team with a smaller budget developing Mirage. Perhaps one day we might get a proper return to form, but Mirage is definitely a much needed palette cleanser after all the RPG AC's.

they really need to upgrade all the mechanics at this point(movement, gear, stealth etc), when i first heard about this i was excited. now seeing the gameplay it just looks like ac origins without the rpg mechanics. if you played one ac you played them all pretty much. ill maybe get it when its on some really good sale with all dlcs but certainly not full price.

it's crazy how good those old ac games still look and still had more attention to detail. i loved the old ac formula, i also enjoyed origins but they just went too crazy with the scale and busy work after...this looks like if ac2 and origins had a baby. looks like a good compromise and something i'm mildly interested although it's disappointing how this still doesn't seem to come close to the creativity of those decade plus old games.

Pretty crazy to see most of the foundations are still exactly the same as the old ones, even down to things like ripping down wanted posters and bribing the town crier dudes. Was hoping to see more evolution so probably will skip this one personally

I was hoping they would return to the old movement system. I haven't had fun moving in an ac game in years. When movement is such a large part of the gameplay loop I'd prefer it to be interactive like ac 1 and 2. I should have to press for every jump and descent. If they just brought back the physics of the old games and combined it with the fluid animations of unity they would have such a wonderfully fun movement system.

Very interesting in this one because i hope that developer realize that larger games dont necessarily mean better games. I would hope that developers take the time and effort to craft more denser, more granular and ultimately more believable worlds (not "realisitic" )for the player. Expand on AI and player interaction and all means that make the world feel more dense and interactive. So this might be a step in the right direction for AC. It maybe signals a step from Ubisoft in said directions.

This game nor any Nu Creed game can do those puzzles. The parkour system is fundamentally lacking. There's no manual jump, back eject, ledge grab, wall jump (the one that lets you jump up when already on a wall) or any of the other nuanced mechanics that make those platforming puzzles possible. You've got free run and that's it. Even the basic freerunning is gimped compared to the older games.

Yeah the combat is lacking a certain brutality and signature flair that comes with the other assassins. A contributing factor could be that his weapon of choice is kinda lame imo, being just a sword and dagger, when it could have been something more new and interesting to give his fighting style some personality.

When Loki runs it's like Ezio a bit heavy When i look at the environment i feel like a deja vu with less love... oh yeah this is like Revelations but in Irak 5:10 Guard kills a chicken for the combat, Black flag was better to deal with two weapons i will play mirage if there are tombs like the originals, if you have to sync every tower, if the fight with two weapons is good and if we improve a city like Monteriggioni

AC is - or I guess used to be - my favorite series, with AC, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, Liberation, Black Flag, and Rogue being solid games. Loved the story and the characters. I enjoyed Origins enough, despite the changes, and I had zero interest in Odyssey, though I got it 60% a year after its release... didn't like that game at all, and never finished it. Barely got 10 hours in, if I remember correctly. Valhalla wasn't on my radar. I would legitimately like a "return to form," but I also don't have any good will for th series. Mirage certainly *LOOKS* like a return to form, but for me, I really just think that it's due to the setting. It looks like the Levant from AC... it looks like Constantinople from Revelations... it *LOOKS* like things of the past, but looks can definitely be deceiving. Ultimately, I'm afraid the title "Mirage" may be an indicator of what the game is going to be. I know Mirage was originally supposed to be an expansion to Valhalla, so that alone may be somewhat telling.

My biggest concern its the combat, if is as origins like you said, im good, but if is as Valhalla its a big No for me, to tell you the truth I really see more of Valhalla almost in everything, the way he walks, the way of the combat, looks slow, but I do like that the camera angle its closer this time ✌, and some animation looks a lot better
