I disagree with the MR, I was blown away by it, it was a very pleasant surprise. It made me feel like I'm actually the hacker and I have this crazy hacker set up in my room and on my head. It felt extremely immersive to me. And the 10 minute story introduction felt very nice. It followed up the story of what I would acually see firts, if I really was the hacker. It set up the atmosphere beautifully and it made me feel like it's all real. But I understand that this is your subjective review, everyone feels different about it 😊😊

One of the things I liked about the original AC is the way combat still made you feel like an assassin. The new combat style takes you out of the character in my opinion. Does the combat at least leave you feeling like a BA or are the enemies sponges that require multiple hits based on heath bars?

You feel like a BA. Landing a wrist blade lunge strike mid fight feels great and overall it's just immersive and physical enough to feel good, just not fully physics based like blade and sorcery.

you ain't wrong about that but blade and sorcery doesn't have a campaign it's nothing but a tech demo and i highly doubt those developers will ever make a campaign compelling enough because if they could they would have made one by now. making a campaign is not easy.

I'd say the game is amazing especially on quest 3. the stealth/climbing mechanic works so well in vr. the scale of the buildings and towns is absolutely spot on.

actually seems to be better optimized for the quest 2 somehow since many people on Reddit are complaining about Q3 issues in specific and personally playing on the quest 2 rn and using quest games optimizer and it's pretty great. still has frame drops but not unplayable

After about 2 hours of play time, I have to say: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GAME. - The parkour challenges, as Matteo said, are surprisingly fun - The world feels big, it's big enough to give you plenty of houses and things to explore, but it's not super big like the desktop games - The missions are interesting - The combat is fun and challenging, I chose normal difficulty and died a couple of times. I'm sure I'll get better but it's not super easy like some people claimed - I played Assassin's Creed Odyssey to 100% on Steam and I love the Greek world. Experiencing this world in first person in VR feels very nostalgic - I estimate the play time to be around 20-25 hours - The game stutters for half a second before some scenes every now and then, but it's barely noticeable. I don't mind at all and it doesn't break the immersion. I prefer the high fidelity and the occasional stutters than low fidelity. - I experienced zero discomfort or motion sickness

Stutters often on Q3. It's 45 fps reprojected to 90 but doesn't maintain that 45 well.

Looks like it’s not for me. A lot of these games that people say are so amazing bore me. Red Matter 2 I had to get because of rave reviews, only to actually hate the game. Who cares that it looked amazing. After half hour I immediately asked for a refund.

It kinda DIDN'T surprise me. It looks...OK, and runs like crap. This is on a Quest 3 not 2. The spacewarp sucks, the stutter sucks, the reeeeeeally low res textures and shimmering suck.

Actually it looks fun, but wow ! The graphics are bad and the whole game feels fake because of all the missing details, objects, npc's..Honestly it's like looking at a game made in 2010, not what I expected. It is obvious how expensive the game is. So much polish and glitter, you don't see it in other VR games. Mechanically I like Stride more, but it is obvious that the team didn't have much budget. In Assassin's Creed I instantly disliked combat. I hope it gets better, but there was no impact at all. And for some reason collisions don't register very well when enemy attacks from left. Even modded Skyrim is better. Assassinations are very crunchy and satisfying though. Also when I climb there is some kind of lag when I throw miself up with my hands, but after initial impuls there is the second more pronounced impulse added after a second. It is weird and feels like a bug.

Looks good. I still wish they cancelled this and made splinter cell vr tho. Chaos Theory was my favorite game when i was released and i think a lot of vr users are a little bit older anyway. Splinter Cell feels like a natural fit for vr. Stealth, Spy, Gunplay and usually pretty slow. Hope they pick it up again :/

i have heard people complain about the parkour being automated but i played enough climbing vr games to know just how tedious those are. hopefully this game gets rid of that awful vr climbing trend. game looks good, and lets hope they keep improving and don't give up on this medium after this title.

It's good. This bothers me though because this looks great on Quest 2, literally as good as any PSVR1 game. This defeats the "mobile graphics" argument and makes me wonder why its the only game that looks like this. Meta needs more AAA devs.

Mobile hardware requires A LOT more optimization and this game was in development for years. Most studios can't afford that

The argument isn't that mobile graphics are absolutely incapable of looking good. The weaker hardware imposes limitations on game design and quality which have dragged the VR industry backwards in some ways. If this game had been built on a more powerful platform, it would have looked even better and there would likely have been expansion of game play and some different choices that would have become practical to implement. Instead, the developer will have spent much more of their effort on optimizing enough to achieve an unusually high level of fidelity for the hardware platform. That's effort that could have been spent improving other aspects. No matter how you slice it, weaker hardware does not help make better games.

This bug is due to user error. Hint - correctly calibrate your character

go to menu, press on settings, then press the calibration thing next to the sitting or standing. Once you do, FULLY extend your arms outwards then press the sitting or standing button. I had the exact same issue but now I feel like a real assassin. Hope this helps.

What kind of gameplay is involved in the missions? Did you play vampire masquerade? For people who like stealth games there is a lot of games right now!

I played a few levels of vampire masquerade. The levels have some combination, combat, parkour climbing and swinging, story telling, and stealth. Some of more open world-ish is things to find and side missions while others are a linear path with a few scattered puzzles. Without any spoilers there are definitely some exciting and more theatrical moments

Dude! I like you but WTF 😅 This game is a killer app and a system seller! There has been nothing like this and until now on the Quest headset! This game is special as it is a first and a full proper aaa title on stand alone vr quest!, You start off with the negatives as though this is just another average release lol?😂 My advise to you is to take down this review and start again lol! There has been NOTHING LIKE THIS untill now with beautiful massive worlds which are fully interactive - cities full of people and life! This is an amazing game and a must buy! Worth every penny! ( I bought it with a 25% discount but sadly worth full price!

I really like your honest reviews. They have kept me from getting a quest 3 until there is more of a reason. Hopefully they will create games that give us a reason to get into VR before they make a Quest 4... lol

It needed to be on better hardware on the psvr2 it would look and perform better with added features of haptics on assassinations, dives and scanning and eye tracking. Poor outcome on old mobile chipset for quest 2 when it could have been released in a far superior state.

Nah , it'd just use worse Reprojection tech, and they have to severely limit the Parkour to prevent users from getting tangled in the headset cord that costs $200 to replace. High fidelity users would want it on pcvr
