This is one of my absolute most favorite periods in history. it has Socrates, the war between Athens and Sparta, more RPG elements, you carry the Spear of Leonidas. So much yes! I honestly believe this will wind up being my favorite game in the entire AC franchise.

JayBay if you own a 4k it is definitely worth it! If you just have a regular hdtv then nope not as much... So depends on tv. But games do look better & sharper on the pro for sure! And that just adds to the immersion of it all! If you subscribe to Candyland or DigtalFoundry they show all the differences in the games to help you see it.. don't watch ign comparison they suck smh lol

Enjoyed the first few AC games/Blackflag but when Desmond was killed off the games quickly went down hill. AC Origins revitalized the franchise for me and Odyssey is pushing AC towards more of a RPG/Action genre which I love.

Ok, I think I speak for a majority of fans who have been around since the beginning of the series... Ubisoft: nobody really gives a shit about Layla's story, we want to see Desmond and the original crew, we want to see more of what happens after the events of his death and how it really impacted everyone else around him. I still love these games and their stories. I think we'd simply like to get back to the games roots. Think about it.

The reason it has AC branding on it is because it follows a similar narrative of picking a historical setting, setting up your story-line, and assassinating people to do it. This game follows all of these things making it viable for the AC branding. THe reason everything else is so different is because ubisoft made the decision to listen to the fans and give them what they want: CHANGE.

I stopped buying AC games a long time ago, but I got AC Black Flag for free a few years ago. I loved it to death. Honestly, I've always felt the worst part of AC games was the assassin part of it. I loved Black Flag because I didn't feel restricted by the role of assassin. I'm intrigued by this game since the combat looks more action oriented and the naval battles are back. I completely understand why AC veterans might not like it though, as it has strayed far from its roots.

The series was all about power thirst enslaver fighting against supporters of free will. they could just build this fight around other institutions/ groups and call it the roots of the later assassins or templars. also, making choice is hardly against the law as you play not as yourself but experience the fiew of a narrator. so your actions as a player can easily be explained as written laws for the character you played. :-)

I think its really similar to origins, but i dont think thats a “bad” thing, i loved origins, love its combat, open world and senu, thankfully the eagle is returning!!!

all the ac games I have played yet (ac 3 , ac syndicate, ac black flag ,just one day of unity ) I really enjoyed them alot and I'm the free roam type of guy I get distracted alot in parkour combat etc just can't finish the story but still I enjoy the game alot I finished the story of ac 3 and it's assassin's creed 3 is my favourite ac game 3 the story is great and parkour too so as I was saying my experience has been good with all of them so I'm looking forward to play this too

Though not a ac game technically, it has all the things I needed in an ancient theme game i.e. battles in which we could participate, customise the gear of r character, fancy palaces and all kind of enviromental settings. really exicited.

I think this ties into the assassins because that spear is what I would assume, is one of the first weapons of Eden ever used, and has been missing for generations. The modern tie in is looking for it wherever your Greek character hid it.

This game makes me wanna come back to the series (though, unlike most people, the naval stuff just isn't my thing). Interesting game-wise and adds a lot of color to the game. Haven't played since AC 3 so I might have to catch up on a lot, do you happen to have walkthroughs for the other games with DLC? I'm really keen for the direction that Ubisoft is going for, Idk if this would be amazing, my all time favorite AC game was brotherhood and a lot has changed since then. Aesthetically the game is super visually pleasing. The color and attention to detail are awesome. The mechanics seem interesting enough, very keen to see more mythological stuff (though that's just me and my tastes). I also like how they are detaching from the typical cliche lore, but expanding on the whole universe of AC, for the most part, I disagree that it feels less Assassin's Creed and More like Mercenary's Creed. The background plot feels the same, I think they're just heading more into explaining why some things are the way they are in the series rather than focusing on the Templar VS Assassin meta. PLUS they only showed teasers so who knows for now. The RPG aspect (is bomb yo, I love it) is interesting and changes the whole feeling of the game and the recruiting of people on the ship feels very brotherhood and syndicate for me which is a plus. Yes, shiny things in AC universe feels mythic and related to Minerva and such. Overall this feels very fleshed out.

I love Orgins and I think even though your not an assassin the mercenary aspect is really interesting and gives the player more options.
