I used want long games. Now i since microtransactions are here. I'd rather ha e zero microtransactions and instead have At release main story 25 quality hours 10 hours quality sides, 5 others making 40 total Then have dlc's per year adding high Quality main,sides, others in packs of 20 hours or so per year And having prices of the original game therefore drop back to 50 instead of current 70/80. Dlc's shouldn't be to crazily expensive though

Went about 40 hours into the game before tapping out. Thank you for this recap. They could have condensed the game much more and had quality over quantity, but alas Ubisoft is not as it once was. I think people look back at AC 4 as the last amazing AC game, and at Unity / Syndicate at the last good and slightly underrated one ( I think Unity is viewed much more highly now compare to Syndicate though). I know Origins was also well, but 40 hours is what it takes to beat the base game AND dlcs, while you need something like 100 hours just for the base game of Valhalla. Hopefully we see another hiatus of AC, after the upcoming DLC for Valhalla, for a few years so we can get another really well made one.

I tried Valhalla when it first came out, got like 20 hours in, and felt like I was going nowhere and the game is still super grind. Few months ago, I decided to buy it for less than $10 to try it again. I think I got like 60 hours in, and still felt like I was nowhere near close to the end of the game. I gave up, sold it to Game Stop for probably less than I bought it for. And I say, good riddance. Ubisoft are fucking their games over the last few years. They make their games super grindy so that you spend money on time saver and resource packs. And there has to be an incentive for you to buy them. Otherwise the game wouldn't be grindy and long and repetitive as it is. They're starting to do to Far Cry what they've managed to do to AC and Watch Dogs and Ghost Recon, which is almost make them live service games with an in game currency to buy, and resource packs, and costume packs. It's such a turn off. Origins was a great game, and a well sized game with a good story. Odyssey and Valhalla went over board with how large the games are, and how boring and repetitive shit got. There is a such thing as TOO big. I'd rather a smaller map with higher quality of content involved. Ubisoft are just on the path to making their games live service and really not giving a shit about quality over quantity. And what's sad is people eat these micro transactions up too. It's fucking sad. I'm glad I said fuck Valhalla and watched this video instead. Shit does not look worth sitting through 100 hours to finish.

I agree with the dislike of "add-on" content, especially DLCs -- my stance is that a game should be fully-developed at release, with all content available then, not later (even if it takes a little longer for release). I'd prefer just one version with everything at a reasonable price, but am fine with the current model selling different versions at release (i.e. "Standard", "Extra", "Deluxe", etc.) at different price-points, each containing a different amount of the content (i.e. "Standard" is the core game, "Extra" is core + significant story DLC, "Deluxe" is core + all DLC + a coloring book, or whatever they're throwing in these days) -- just as long as all the content is available up-front. Hey dude, found you through Jack Sather. Great video! [Additional comment]: Dang I'm glad I chose to stop playing this game. This is definitely one of the worse video game stories I've ever heard. It's immensely convoluted; unnecessary and poorly-executed twists that exist for the sake of having twists, no impactful ties to the original plot of the series, and way too long-winded. This isn't a sci-fi game, but a fantasy game, and not a good one. I thought the series was headed in a more inter-human conflict direction (maybe inter-species because of the "Ones Who Came Before", which they didn't need to give the "Isu" name to imo); I would have been much more invested if thing got political in an Assassin/Templar way (so long as they didn't try to relate to real-world conflicts). But for a series that started with "historical fiction" in mind, it's too ungrounded to be considered that anymore. Of course, that's fine for a game, but not for one that advertises history as being part of it's plot. The advertising material even said "Become a Viking". The "Assassin's Creed"-ness of the series ended with Origins. If Ubisoft intends to get into sci-fi, they ought to take notes from Guerrilla Games and the like (you can say what you want about Horizon Zero Dawn but that story connected the dots well, and the twists were decently-executed). If they want fantasy, they should just end the Assassin's Creed IP and make a new one.

Hey, thanks very much -- just checked out Jack's channel, looks very cool. I agree that Assassin's Creed has strayed further from the historical and original templar/assassin path than I would like -- part of what made the original ACs so enjoyable was the simpler focus on an ancient and hidden war, coupled with the nearly-seamless entertaining education of historical information -- now it's far-flung shark-jumping with global-warming tie-ins, though I still glean what enjoyment I can from it. It's funny you mention Horizon Zero Dawn, I also made a video for it on this channel -- a thoroughly-enjoyable game. Thanks for watching!

She essentially switches places with Basim -- she enters the simulation, while he escapes -- the Staff of Hermes revives Basim's body when he exits, so it may be possible for it to do the same to her body, but she at least exists within the simulation for now. Thanks for watching!

Loki (re-incarnated as Basim)'s son, Fenrir, was prophesized to kill Odin (re-incarnated as Eivor) in the Norse Apocalypse (Ragnarok), so Odin imprisoned Fenrir, which led to Loki poisoning Baldr (Odin's son), and animosity between Loki and the rest of the Norse Gods began. Loki's other children are Jormungandr, arch-nemesis of Thor (Odin's other son), and Hel, goddess of Helheim, the realm of death where those who do not die bravely in battle go (instead of Valhalla). Basim is still seeking revenge and the location of his children, whom he believes are still alive in some form.
