The AUG A1 optic is easier to use than people give it credit for and actually has an interesting perk: If you miss a shot, the reticle does not obstruct your view and so you can actually SEE the impact and adjust, it's surprisingly intuitive. It also pointfires like a dream.

it has huge Hight overbore issues that's why people don't like using it and then the fact it's replacement rails for optics are locked behind lvl 4 traders for what seems to be no reason, the gun its self isn't to bad but the are better alternatives but its all down to preference

I seem to recall it also had slightly lower base recoil stats back in the day. I went to look it up on the Tarkov wiki to confirm and the AK-74N and AK-74 seem to now have the same base stats, but I distinctly recall the 74N being 3-5 points lower in vertical recoil before any mods. Not a huge difference, but if you're going to make the choice for a meta build, you might as well take the one that will give you the lowest stats possible for the same price.

@@landashua i do remember that too. Which is why I used it so much and now its still a very decent gun. Craft one for like 10k and put 20k worth of mods on there and while it ain't the best or meta I don't think you can get something comparable for that cheap.

The 105 is so cheap on the flea and I find them pretty much every other scav run. They've become my 'i need a cheap questing kit' gun. That, and I have more than 1,000 rounds of assorted 5.45, mostly BT and BP (thanks Woods and Reserve, much love).

5:45 or just have an AK with "dovetail" IRL. Also most of dust covers with rails have to be mounted on rear sight base (to maintain zero) so it works as a hinge which can be annoying during gun maintenance.

I love the AK-104. It's my favorite, as it's the closest thing we have to a 7.62x39mm AKS-47U. It needs minimal modding to be very good. Stock doesn't need to be switched out, just add the GP-25 rubber pad, AK-100 foregrip with a flashlight and vertical foregrip, maybe a new muzzle device, although the stock one is similar to AKS-74U booster muzzle device so replacing it is not necessary, a kobra mount, and a T12W 30hz thermal reflex sight you got for free from woods. The AKMS used to be my favorite. I would slap a Monstrum 2x with a rubber butt pad and a dong wooden foregrip. It works great for those long range snipes. The AK-74N used to be meta as it was the only 5.45mm AK that could have a Zhukov stock with a dovetail mount for PSO scope.

My 104 build is literally just the DTK-1 muzzle break, GP-25 buttpad, the RS-47 handguard, a Baldrpro, and the Zenit RK-4 grip, and an OKP-7 sight. A fairly cheap build that still works like a champ.

I remember back in early .12 the SA58 osw variant was so cheap on the market, I would buy one buy a few mods and run into a raid. 50k plus 18k of mods for a 308 juice canon was insanely good for the money.

I have a love/hate relationship with the AK12. I like it because its supposed to be a modern ak, thats look sick with all the abilities of the original ak. I hate the Tarkov AK12 because they used the more common dust cover that looks more like a traditional AK as opposed to the other angular dust cover. That AND the back of the AK12 has stuff on it in tarkov that isnt there IRL which I think also makes it look more ugly. Shameeeee cause thats the only reason I like the ak12

I love using the G36 for 3 reasons: Nostalgia from "Madness: Project Nexus (classic)" being a meta perfect choice as first. Second, in burst is a headshot machine. And third, it looks similar to the FX-05 Xiuhcoatl and I really like the looks, only wish there was a flat rail without having a changing handle but it is non-existant.

Idk if this got patched but the ak-101 with a higher velocity 5.56 round has a STUPIDLY high muzzle velocity thats hard to achieve with a normal long barrel AR, it then made itself a ridiculously good rifle for engaging targets way past what a Assault Rifle is supposed to be feeling more like a low recoil DMR with a 30 round mag

@@paddypibblet846 The recoil impulse on the gun (especially the UB variant) is much softer than the full length 74, it is extremely easy and cheap to mod to low recoil, and it in general just feels better. A meta full length 74 needs more parts to get the same or lower recoil than a meta 74U, which the 74U does cheaper
