The recoil is one thing I'll never get about Tarkov. For a game that embraces and clearly cares about realism in so many other facets, they really dropped the ball on the recoil mechanics. As it is now, you are punished for using semi-auto, and are rewarded for just going full auto all the time. It unfortunately makes all the cool semi-auto guns they add basically useless at late game pvp, and ensures its just AR's with the biggest mags you can fit.
@y0h0p382 жыл бұрын
They just changed it because so many peple cried about pre 12.12 recoil where M4s and HKs were meta because you could beam people from 100+ meters on full auto. Pretty much the recoil right now is like your PMC doesn't control recoil at all, while pre-12.12 was your PMC controling most of the recoil. Its a weird mix of almost like CS:GO where the character doesn't control recoil at all, and like CoD where the character controls a lot of the recoil
@nade72422 жыл бұрын
it used to be more accurate, but then everything was a laser beam and people complained dunno what you're talking about with the semi auto though, most semi auto guns are great for recoil, like the sr25 and m1a, that's why they removed them from the flea recently burst is the problem, since they still have the initial burst of recoil from fully automatic it makes burst fire absolutely useless I'd also expect pretty much all recoil values to be changed on full release as they did mention that they'll be rebalancing EVERYTHING

Revolvers still work better or are easier to handle with large caliber rounds as they don’t have to worry about moving slides and such being big enough to eject the large rounds, particularly rimmed ones. So on the subject of Tarkov Recoil. There's two types: Visual and Actual recoil based on what your FOV is set at. Presumably to encourage people not to just crank fov because additional vision is an advantage. If you play at 63 fov it should be a more authentic experience. Cheers.

Can we get a livestream or a video of Jonathan playing or just using guns in tarkov? Would be so much fun.
@SlavicGold2 жыл бұрын
estimating range is not too bad in Tarkov, Once you have some gauge of 100m its easy to then multiply that for distance appraisal or sighting your scope can use landmarks or player model size as well

The headquarters of Battlestate Games is located in London. Im sure you could get a good video out of Jonathan visiting the HQ and chatting to the devs about modeling guns and creating mechanics for them in the game.

Another Episode of Tarkov guns woud be very nice :) Still some interesting guns left (PKM/P, Spear, SR25/RSASS, AK12, S/AVT, Kedr, STM)
@gendoslice59712 жыл бұрын
he should look into the lore of tarkov, which guns are present is pretty irrellevant in this fictional future, but I love his knowledge.

Now that they changed the recoil I’d like a redo

The only argument I can see for a revolver is reliability, mechanically I don't see any more reliable firearm than maybe a well machined/forged slamfire shotgun. I don't think I've ever seen a revolver malfunction in the "normal" way, as in, shells not ejecting on a pistol causing a jam etc. Grime and dirt would impact a revolver far less I would think as well.
@hummel6364 Жыл бұрын
Which is why revolvers are commonly used as a kind of self-defense/survival weapon for hiking trips, in rough climates like the arctic, and of course a backup for large game hunting. Basically anywhere where you aren't really concerned about using it all the time, but when you need it it ABSOLUTELY has to work flawlessly. That's also why some people carry revolvers over automatic pistols in day to day life.
@insertname3977 Жыл бұрын
@@hummel6364Also in those situations where you're bringing a backup, it's going to be in a larger calibre than the usual handgun lot, which fits more comfortably in your hand as a revolver than as one of the few magnum handguns.

Once more, I'm requesting an episode on Titanfall (2). I know he looked at Apex already, but Titanfall still has more weapons (plus all the titan weapons)
@stellle_2 жыл бұрын
It could be a kind of sequel to the Apex video. I'd love to see him break down the designs of some of the the odd weapons like the SMR or the Alternator.

Even Jonathan can see there's too much recoil on 5.56 and he doesn't even play the game! Been an ongoing issue in the community since their December update
@Thunderking012 жыл бұрын
I'd really like to see more Hunt: showdown videos. I know they did the 1 but there are alot more weapons to touch on.
@cam27862 жыл бұрын
In this video a man who doesn't even play tarkov can tell us exactly what is wrong with the recoil in tarkov, yet somehow the devs struggle with that.
@rautamiekka2 жыл бұрын
If all the other commenters are right, they had to jack up the recoil for balance. If they wouldn't, they might as well drop most of the guns and customization options cuz there would be 0 point in many other guns due to inferiority.

Ohh man I friggin love a Scar : ) Former navy seal "Coch" has an awesome youtube channel tactical hyve I believe, and on it he has a video where he talks about being involved with the development, and that for example the scar being able to have its grips changed for any that fit on a regular ar15 was his idea. Great stuff Also thank you so much for having more "normal" weapons this time lol I mean the crazy glock and the revolver shotgun thing are neat, but they're not weapons a lot of us are super interested in? Could be wrong. Plus I love that this channel helps get some of our fellow nerds into firearms, teaches them more about them, and maybe makes them seem less "scary" or intimidating. They're just cool objects : )
@bradfin122 жыл бұрын
in the game the scar comes with the standard ar-15 pistol grip and the magpull grip is an upgrade

Tarkov actually had realistic recoil in its early days, but BSG had to change it so mods and skills made sense in the game. Back then, it's hard to differentiate a stock M4's recoil to a fully-modded M4.
