Some people also have issues with the ethics of leather. Agree or disagree with that topic, it's true. Leather isn't always a byproduct like people assume. Animals are often killed just for their skin and kept in extremely cruel conditions especially at the cheap end. Just saying there is another reason to shop for faux suede and I believe some suede can be more real looking than others.

That’s a different topic. The influencers that are promoting these shoes are not vegan and could care less about the ethics of leather.

Hi. What’s the brand of your genuine suede jacket?
@arrigovandenburg5235 жыл бұрын
You find these jackets a lot in thrift shops for like 35 bucks. Great jacket to match with a whole light jeans outfit. A bit oversized suede jacket with a slightly oversized denim shirt , a fresh coloured new era cap. and rockin a good pair of sneakers. Classic adidas sneakers. And last but not least . a workers pant or distressed jeans.

It’s important to stipulate that even if a product states genuine suede that’s the lowest quality available. The king of all suede jackets is the apc louis Wong suede bomber. This is an investment piece you should be willing to pay a good amount. Where is the one you have in the video from?

I don't want to serve a high maintenance leather jacket when I'm not that rich to afford a one time use leather jacket. My clothes should serve me. I would not pay money for buying and keep paying for professional cleaning just because genuine leather is more breathable and you feel luxurious. I even stop buying pure cashmere and silk in the past 5 yrs because they are not machine washable.

You know that faux is wayyy worse for the environment right? Most faux leather is polyurethane which is horrible for the environment, you kill more animals buying and supporting companies that make plastic jackets than by buying one of an actual animal skin, where the rest of the animal has been used to feed people
@morphkogan86275 жыл бұрын
@@zanderascher8205 You couldn't be more wrong. Animal agriculture is responsible for more green house gas emissions then the entire transportation system combined. Its responsible for land desertification, climate change, deforestation of the amazon, oceanic dead zones, massive land and water use. It takes 15kg of plants to make 1kg of beef. Thats the most inefficient way to feed people on earth. People are starving and animals are dying because you want an "authentic" skin jacket.

I don't think you mentioned the advantage of faux suede where one avoids directly supporting a cruel and deadly industry. Genuine suede is the skin of an animal who was killed (not euthanized) often in terrible ways. These animals also live lives in horrible conditions. Not just cattle, but even dogs! You, reader, have you ever had a relationship with a dog? If you never met that dog you had a relationship with, would it have been okay for someone to kill them? Not to mention the tannery workers (humans) who have approximately 5x greater risk for cancers and other untold health detriments. It's an all-around a needless and disgusting industry. I don't mean to be one of 'those' people but frankly it's a barbaric industry that if we understood (and didn't casually forget about), we would never support with our own money.
