Bruce if you dont get yourself set up to be the first dealer in the US, you're missing out. You will probably need a cash partner to start, but would be worth it. Go get it. These trucks will take off here. Truckers want reliability, and deserve comfort.

Hello Bruce I'm a Scania Technician from Switzerland and can explain what this is. This black box on one of the Fuel Tanks is like you said a Fuel Filter and Diesel Distribution/Optimise System. It is new on Scania Trucks for better Fuel economy. With that System you can get more diesel out of the Fuel Tanks in comparison to 20 Years ago. And behold by this new build wise, you don't need big Diesel Tanks anymore, because the new System can pump more Fuel out of the smaller Tanks. With that you can save a lot of Diesel and reduce the Maintenance costs. Another point is this system is easy to fix/maintain because you don't have to vent out the diesel system anymore. I hope this clears your Question👍

I really hope Scania comes back to America. I worked for a company that had a T cab(? looked like a COE with a box out front. Just Ugggggly AF) in the late 1980's. Then I got to drive it, and was shocked how great it really was! In Northern Pa that year we had Hella Freezing Winter, lots of -0 weather. I was used to dressing for freezing in a 1970's COE Freightliner, but our mechanic showed me a switch for when it's freezing out, and your running the truck. He said it changed the timing, and man did that truck got warm, and stay warm, and toasty. They had to sell the truck in 1993 to get me out of it, and in a new long nosed Freightliner.

Your not going to like the ride, because it will beat up you back and azz, these cab overs aren't for the USA highway's, they need to first fix the highway's, trust me I had a cab over when I first started driving semis back in 1983, and back then the highway's were drivable, I've been in the trucking industry for 41 years, just retired in 2023, like I said the ride on these trucks will kill ur back and azz, unless they fix the crumbling highway's and bridges, one thing about these trucks they can fit easily in any city with minimal over steer.

@@coach2208I'm sorry, you may have been in the trucking industry for 41 years, but the fact you haven't driven a cabover since 1983 made me laugh, literally everything you said means nothing, 41 years is a long time for progress to be made, apart from the fact you are comparing an American cabover you would have driven VS a Scania, if you have learned anything from Bruce, you should know these trucks are decades ahead of US trucks P.S I'm a trucker in the UK, and our roads are SHOCKING, and our trucks deal with them (just) I was in America last year, and I didn't find the roads any worse nor better

I'd love to see Scania back in the US, they were here until the early 90's, then they stopped importing them. I did have one for a couple years, the ones we had were among the last ones that came to the US. Mine was a 6x4 T series (not a cabover, but with a hood), I believe it was a 500hp V8 with a 14 speed manual transmission, a pusher lift axle and a Palfinger knuckle boom crane. It was an awesome truck, never any issues and very comfortable to drive. Lots of interior space, both for driver and storage, even had heaters for the fuel tanks. I was sad to see them stop importing them, hopefully they will be back again soon, I think the American trucking industry will find that they are really quality trucks.

Small black thing in front of the fuel tank is the FOU "Fuel Optimization Unit". Basically a catch tank, fuel is fed from there to the engine rather than from the big tank. This way you can run the big tank emptier as there is no risk of air being sucked into the system.

Oh, quick tip: the little flappy thing inside the fuel tank filler? Bends really easy! Careful... If ever you forget the fuel filler cap, this little thing will prevent diesel pooring out! (Don't ask how I know...😋)

Lol you mean that anti spill flap that makes filling up the tank to the brim a headache. That thing is supposed to support the pump handle and it doesn't, more than one occasion the filler has slipped and covered me in diesel.

Bruce, from the Netherlands I follow your journey in the Scania world as a former cattle hauler and now as a dairy farmer. I started in 2001 with a 143 420 hp and ended up with a 2008 r500 in 2010 when I took over the farm. I think it would be cool if the Scania runs in the U.S. is to see this for an American cattle pod on a long run!😊👌. Very nice to see Americans with Scanias, things that are very normal for us and that surprise you. Which is of course also vice versa. good luck with everything and at the moment in Sweden, greetings from the Netherlands!

Exactly my way of thinking, would the US trucking industry allow these futuristic trucks to compete with their trucks? Protecting the US products and brands will be the major issue. It's like Harley Davidson motorcycles, while everyone was keeping up with technology, Harley stuck to the same cruisers and technology way behind the rest of the world and never ventured into other models, until it bit them in the as#. Fingers crossed Scania or any European truck will be in the US sooner rather than later. Looking forward to the 770 driving on US roads.

A question? , scania in the past did not achieve a sales success and were los and suffered humiliation and had to withdraw , the vast mayority of those who bought Scania we're europeans in North américa and could not , win the Will of native americanos , on the other hand Volvo did win the Will of the native americans and stole the hearts of the american people , o the other hand Scania had to withdraw like a dog with it's tail between it's legs and Volvo established itself in North américa

Absolutetly. The Scania Trucks are simply the best in the world. And if given a fair chance: Many US truckers and US companies would soon realize this. The only 'hurdle' for all Euro Truck companies presenting themselves on the US market would be: Convinsing the individual US-trucker: that the more compact cabover design is the more efficient and superiour one. To rub out thoose prehistoric hoods stuck in truckers minds; would take time. However: ANYONE that drives a new Euro SCANIA truck; simply can NOT deny the vehicle superiority. (The ones insisting in doing that -would only look like fools.) All the most successful businessess always uses the best. If SCANIA (and other Euro trucks) would be ALLWED for purchase on the US-Market: What company would not -if the competition would...? Not to: Would be handing over Your little corner of the market... In all theese clips We all have seen beatiful SCANIA Trucks. But we have not seen THE COMPLETE AWSOMENESS of the SCANIA road service. If Your truck breaks down; Scania workshops comes out in the middle of the night -to help You out. Remember in the vid; when Bruce shoved You -that every part that goes in theese SCANIA trucks are marked with a specific number? Also the massive wiring for the electrics. A SCANIA mechanic only need to hook up their computer to the truck -to see EXACTLY what is wrong with it. ABSOLUTELY NO unnessesary dealys searching. SCANIA can also monitor the truck directly in their computers -if they need to. Like a pitboss in Formula one racing: They can tell You A HEAD OF TIME; if something is about to crap out on Your truck -and inform You when it time to service individual parts/thing on the Truck. Everything about SCANIA -is simply superiour. (There is no other word for it.)

Sorry Peter the general haulage, container and tanker fleets use 6 X 2 with a steered and lifting mid axle. Fuel tankers use stupid smaller wheels on the lifting axle. Bulk, waste and animal hauliers tend to use the 6 X 2 with lifting tag axle (as bruce has in the USA in his 4 Series trucks). 6 X 4 Scanias in the UK are for really heavy haulage (STGO). The 6x4 is quite rare in europe. The reason is that in europe, unlile usa, the drving axel are alowed to have quite a bit more ground pressure. So most tracs simply dong need to habe twp drive axles.
